🌏⚡ ASIA’S HUMANIST MOMENT IS COMING.
The 2026 virtual Asian Humanist Conference is a mind-blowing event that will bring humanists, freethinkers, secularists, scholars, activists, and advocates from all over Asia together. It is organized by Humanists Malaysia, with the support of Humanists International. This conference will be one of the most important gatherings for humanists in the region in a long time, and it will be a great opportunity for people to connect and learn from each other.
We are strategizing the conference and we would like to hear from you. We are planning the programme, choosing speakers and thinking about what's important. During the conference, we will also discuss & strategize the Asian Humanist Statement 2026. We want your voice included from the very beginning.
📝 Submit your feedback / ideas / expectations here:
🔗 ahc2026.humanistsmalaysia.org
⏳ The deadline for feedback is 31st of May, 2026.
Why participate?
✅ Help shape the direction of the conference
✅ Influence the issues discussed by Asian humanists
✅ Strengthen regional cooperation across Asia
✅ Contribute to a historic movement for reason, human rights & secularism in Asia
⚠️ Important: The programme committee will look at the submissions that come in early first, when they are determining what should be discussed and what's important.
Asia has a huge population, with over half of the world's people living there, but when it comes to speaking out on humanist issues, the voices in this region are not really being heard, they are fragmented and not strong enough.
This conference seeks to change that.
If you are someone who values reason, thinks critically, and believes in freedom of thought, secularism, science, democracy and basic human rights for all, then now's your chance to have a say before the conference starts.
Make sure to share this with everyone who should be a part of this historical initiative; spread the word and let's make this happen together! 🌏

Alfred Russel Wallace independently hypothesized the theory of evolution by natural selection while researching in the Malay Archipelago. In 1858, he sent an essay to Darwin, leading to a joint presentation of their ideas before Darwin published “On the Origin of Species“ in 1859.

“We appeal, as human beings, to human beings: Remember your humanity, and forget the rest. If you can do so, the way lies open to a new Paradise; if you cannot, there lies before you the risk of universal death.” - Russell-Einstein Manifesto, 1955, released at the height of the Cold War, shortly after both the US and the USSR had tested hydrogen bombs.

We at Humanists Malaysia are deeply saddened by MJ’s passing. We were just beginning to learn of her humanist education for children in Philippines. This is a great loss for Southeast Asian humanism and humanism in general. We hope her work continues and is sustained in the Philippines. Deepest condolences to her family. 🙁

A committed humanist and deeply compassionate leader, Mary Jane Quiming will be profoundly missed by the global humanist community.
