Speed, Stress, & Water.
Throughout history, mankind has never been stressed, anxious, and depressed like we are now. Why is this happening? We are pushing things too far, too fast, too competitive…and we don’t even understand why this is happening. What is it truly for?

In this super-fast world (that human’s have “innovated”), we end up mentally, physically and more importantly, spiritually, exhausted. Lost in the “purposeless” super-speed, “born to win”, smack-down environment. We are psychologically destroying ourselves and our children.

Water teaches us why life can’t always go fast, what more, super-fast. Water teaches us to take our time, sense and reflect, to understand each of our purposes, to learn it’s okay not to fight and struggle, that it’s okay just being you and take one step at a time. Water teaches us that it’s okay to go “slow”.

Most of the time (we never notice), calmness, steadiness, gentleness and valour win as opposed to hastiness, speed, worries and anxiety.

Water is life. Never fight with water. It always win.

Learn to submit and surrender.

𝗗𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗘𝗥!! 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗖𝗧 𝗭𝗢𝗡𝗘!! ⛔️
[An educational post we've adapted from the American Red Cross Life Guarding Manual, 2021]

When you’re faced with a CONSCIOUS AND MOVING VICTIM experiencing a water emergency, the risk of YOU (too) drowning may occur in the CONTACT ZONE. Read on.

𝗪𝗵𝘆?
1. Because the victim at that time can only ATTACH to anything to catch their breath above the water surface. If you’re too close, he/she will attach to YOU.

2. Entering the contact zone to rescue is a rescuer's LAST alternative.

3. If you decide to enter the contact zone, you need to be prepared with the right lifesaving skills and strong STAMINA.

4. Many lives (males, especially!) are lost when trying to 'rescue' a drowning victim.

5. If you have to enter the contact zone, make sure the victim is not CLINGING to you and DROWNING you together.

6. Several special techniques are taught to rescuers (release techniques) to escape from being hugged, pressed and drowned.

Therefore, always remember that entering the contact zone is the LAST option, and only for well-trained lifesavers.

What CAN you do to help?
“𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗖𝗛, 𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗢𝗪, 𝗗𝗢𝗡’𝗧 𝗚𝗢!” 👇

1. Hold out a buoy, cloth, rope, wood, empty plastic bottles or anything you can reach (even your own clothes!) and allow the victim to be PULLED / PUSHED / FLOAT / TOWED.

2. SHOUT OUT LOUD so that the victim stays focused!

2. Always stay OUTSIDE THE CONTACT ZONE!!

Remember,
“𝑹𝑬𝑨𝑪𝑯, 𝑻𝑯𝑹𝑶𝑾, ...𝑫𝑶𝑵’𝑻 𝑮𝑶!”

We first met her in 𝗦𝘄𝗶𝗺 & 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗮 back in 2022, followed by our 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 (𝗟𝗮𝗸𝗲) programmes. She hasn't stopped since! Frustrated with her freestyle swims (like most of our clients), she then asked for our advice and guidance. This week, she completed her final session (6th), gently, gracefully swimming 1km. Now she's enrolling for our 𝗣𝗔𝗗𝗜 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲!

Congratulations Zam-san! 👏
This marks the beginning of more aqua adventures... for your body, mind & soul.

𝗥𝗘𝗚𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡'𝗦 𝗖𝗟𝗢𝗦𝗘𝗗, 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗮!
6 PADI Freedivers will be participating in their open water evaluations (PADI Advanced Freediver + PADI Freediver courses). Pray and wish them success!

This time, we are 𝘂𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝘂𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘄𝗶𝗺 (OWSS) program alongside our freediving evaluations as Dr. Rahayu's health condition isn't permitting for the moment. We would like to apologise for any inconveniences caused.

To all 6 freediver participants, 𝗣𝗔𝗗𝗜 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗿. 𝗦𝘆𝗮𝗶 will take charge of the entire trip.

Do stay safe. Never, never fight with water.

Our most popular programme in 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 - 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 is (still!) 𝗦𝘄𝗶𝗺 & 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗮 [Private Session]! Age ranges from 𝟯𝟬𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝟳𝟬𝘀!

Our private session (maximum 5 pax per session) is a favourite of 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀, less distracting compared to our large group sessions, and more focused on each client's water abilities.

𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀
1. Head to shore! Return to land ASAP!
2. Stay low in the boat! If you cannot get to shore, drop anchor and stay as low as possible in the middle of the boat. Do not hold onto any metal parts.
3. Boats with cabins. If your boat has an enclosed cabin, stay inside and avoid touching any metal or electrical components.
4. Wear a lifejacket! A lifejacket won't protect you from a strike, but it can be critical if a strike leaves you unconscious in the water.

𝗜𝗳 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿
1. Get Low! If you are in an open area and hair begins to stand on end, assume the crouched position.

2. Separate individuals in a group to reduce the chance of multiple casualties from a single strike.

𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗲
1. If someone is struck by lightning, make sure the danger from lightning has passed before approaching a victim. If necessary and safe, move the victim to a more secure location. 𝗜𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗮 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝗸 𝗯𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, as they do not carry an electrical charge. Provide immediate first aid focusing on the airway, breathing, and circulation.

2. Anyone struck by lightning should seek medical advice.

3. Do not resume outdoor activities or reopen facilities until at least 30 minutes after the last rumble of thunder.

Our additional note:
When lightning strikes forcefully and non-stop when you're with water, have 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗲. 𝗦𝘂𝗯𝗺𝗶𝘁, 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿. 😇💙
