In conjunction with World Autism Day, the Kiwanis Club of Sabah organized a meaningful charity event to support children and individuals with disabilities. Held at Pusat Jagaan OKU Leshan, this initiative showcased the club's unwavering commitment to creating sustainable impacts within the community.
Led by Organizing Chairperson May Lee, the event was supported by an enthusiastic committee including Vincent Shini Ho (Club President), Ivy Chee (Project Secretary), Rozy Goudi (Collection Director), and Tang Chiok Guan (Logistics Director).
Generous contributions from sponsors played a crucial role in the success of this event. Notable donations included RM5,000 from Mr. Michael Ang, RM300 from Miss Karis, RM50 from Mr. Nathan Leong, rice from Mr. Alex Liew, and essential supplies such as toilet paper and adult diapers from Tang Piling Sdn Bhd. Additional support came from Sim Trading (Qing Long Sadakan) and One Stop Sdn Bhd (Qing Long Sabah), who contributed Milo, milk powder, and logistic services.
Expenses were thoughtfully managed, with RM548 allocated for cleaning supplies, RM1,950.50 for groceries, and a cash donation of RM2,851.50 provided directly to Pusat Jagaan OKU Leshan.
Reflecting on the event, May Lee expressed gratitude for the hard work of all Kiwanis members and emphasized the importance of increasing public awareness for future initiatives. “By expanding our outreach and attracting more sponsorships and volunteers, we hope to sustain our mission of serving those in need,” she shared.
