The story of JCI Luyang

The forming Junior Chamber International Luyang was one of the objectives of JCI Malaysia and National Executive Vice President (NEVP) 2009 JC Paul Hen, in an effort to steer Area Sabah towards growth and expansion from Year 2009 and onwards. On 12 August 2009, he met up with Annie Liew to share the idea of forming a new chapter, JCI Luyang. The idea was received very posi

tively and Annie Liew took the initiative of recruiting more members in order achieve the targeted number of 25 members. The period ending 31 Jan 2010 saw JCI Luyang’s first batch of 15 members on their wagon. The rest of the members joined at the subsequent meetings and activities with members from JCI Tanjung Aru. At that time, there were an agreement and understanding that JCI Tanjung Aru will be the Chapter to sponsor for JCI Luyang. Past National President 1997 JCI Senator Clarence Chin was appointed by JCI Tanjung Aru to be JCI Luyang’s advisor, and JC Paul Hen (Immediate Past NEVP 2010 and Past President 2006) was appointed to be the LOM Extension Coordinator for JCI Luyang.
