Smart City Precision Pest Management

SIPMA was pleased to be part of the Karnival Biodiversiti: Urban Insects in a Changing World – Challenges for Sustainable Cities and Communities, held at UMS.

SIPMA members attended the programme together with the DBKK team led by Tn. Fedy Fabian, Ketua Unit Kawalan Vektor.

The sharing by Prof. Ts. Dr. Abdul Hafiz Ab Majid was particularly interesting, especially on how molecular ecology, IoT, AI and data can be applied to pest management in our cities.

Our appreciation to Prof. Madya Dr. Fiffy Hanisdah Saikim, Director of ITBC, UMS, and Dr. Ong Song Quan, Senior Lecturer at ITBC, UMS and SIPMA Entomology Advisor, for the invitation and for making this programme possible.

A good opportunity for industry, DBKK and academia to come together, exchange ideas and look at the future of urban pest management.

Another Milestone for SIPMA

Digital transformation is becoming increasingly important in strengthening professional associations, and SIPMA is pleased to take another step forward with the introduction of our Official Membership App.

Launched during SIPMA's 1st Installation Dinner 2026, the app provides our members with a digital membership platform and reflects our commitment towards embracing technology in serving our members more efficiently.

This initiative marks the beginning of our digitalisation journey. As the platform continues to evolve, we look forward to exploring additional features that can further enhance member engagement and support the continued growth of Sabah's licensed pest management industry.

Our appreciation goes to BizBuddy for partnering with SIPMA in bringing this initiative to life.

Together, we continue building a stronger, more connected and more professional pest management industry for Sabah.
