These tyres are used to replace wooden planks on the bridge. Wood can rot over time especially in humid, rainy conditions — making it slippery and unsafe.

Tyres provide better grip, helping villagers cross more safely, even in the rain. They also last longer than wood, making them a more durable and reliable option. And instead of ending up in landfills for 50 to 80 years, these tyres are being reused to support the community.

A simple solution — using what’s available to make bridges safer and more durable. That’s how we work with communities to build stronger bridges that last. ❤️

What was once a dangerous crossing at Jambatan Tampasak is now something the community in Kampung Sayap can rely on every day!

Thank you to everyone who made this possible ❤️

Have you noticed what the villagers are carrying behind their backs?🎒

In Dusun, they call it a “Salabit.” It’s a simple sling used to carry things behind their back. Whether it’s padi, daily essentials, or freshly harvested vegetables. For many rural villagers, especially farmers, this is something they use almost every day!

What makes it even more interesting is that many of these Salabit are not bought. Instead, villagers repurpose unwanted materials and recreate their own🤩

It’s a simple but clever way to carry heavy loads while also reducing waste.

Moments like this remind us that even without expensive tools, people can create practical solutions with a little creativity and resourcefulness❤️

They were carrying heavy materials… but still enjoying the moment together ♥️

No machines, no shortcuts, just a huge roll of chain link, carried along step by step.
Even with the weight, the mood stayed light. They joked, smiled, and kept going.

In a world where most of us expect things to arrive at our doorstep, it’s easy to forget that some communities still have to build access with their own hands.

Not something you see every day.

What a Transformation at Kg Pinapakan Sayap!✨

From the first careful steps across the unfinished bridge to seeing it fully built and ready, the villagers’ determination and teamwork brought this vital pathway to life.

Every step, every adjustment, was a move toward safety and connection for their community. Now, children can cross the bridge safely, without fear.

Bridges like this connect families, farmers, and futures. This is more than just a bridge, it reflects what’s possible when people build together ❤️

Just look at the determination of these women 💪

Under the hot sun, they carry materials, push wheelbarrows across narrow wooden bridges, and work alongside the rest of the community without hesitation.

Not because they were told to—but because they care about what’s being built for the people around them.

Every step, every load carried, and every hour spent on the ground reflects a shared effort to improve daily life for their families and community.

These moments may look simple, but they say a lot about resilience, teamwork, and showing up for one another.

This is what real participation looks like on the ground ❤️

With the completion of Jambatan Tampasak, what used to be a daily challenge has become a safer, more reliable path for John and his community—making it easier to get to school, farm, and carry out everyday life.

This is the kind of impact that happens when solutions are built together, with the community at the heart of it!

Follow along as we share more stories and moments from the communities we work with in rural Sabah ❤️

For most of us, crossing a bridge is something we don’t think twice about.

But in Kg Sayap, Jambatan Rugading is a risk people take every day. Swipe to see what they go through.

We believe no one should have to choose between safety and access.

From a small step to something life-changing !🌱
Swipe through to see how Earnesia’s journey unfolded and how one decision can grow into something much bigger for a family.

Real change doesn’t happen overnight. But with the right support, skills, and consistency, it becomes something families can rely on for the long term.

What happens after we install water pipelines? 🤔

Installation is just the beginning.

Once the system is in place, families no longer have to walk long distances or rely on unsafe river water. Children can focus on school. Parents can focus on work. Daily stress slowly eases.
But our work doesn’t stop there.

We continue working closely with the community to ensure the system is properly maintained, managed, and sustainable for the long term — so clean water doesn’t just flow today, but for years to come.
