Sabah China Chamber of Commerce Strengthens Healthcare Collaboration with Dali.

Sabah China Chamber of Commerce (SCCC), led by President Datuk Frankie Liew, recently participated in the 2026 Dali Medical Devices Industry Expo and South Asia & Southeast Asia International Medical Industry Promotion Conference in Dali, Yunnan, China.

During the visit, SCCC explored opportunities in advanced medical technology, smart healthcare solutions, medical tourism, and healthcare investment cooperation between Sabah and Dali. The delegation also held discussions with government agencies, healthcare institutions, and industry players to strengthen collaboration and identify potential areas for future development.

Datuk Frankie Liew highlighted Sabah’s strategic position as a gateway to ASEAN and emphasized the Chamber’s commitment to fostering stronger economic, healthcare, and investment ties between Malaysia and China. The visit also provided valuable insights into Dali’s rapidly growing healthcare industry and innovation ecosystem.

在交流会上，双方重点探讨了沙巴农业领域的巨大潜力，尤其是在现代农业技术、农作物种植方式、科学管理体系、人才交流以及产业合作等方面。沙巴丰富的自然资源和优越的气候条件，被一致认为是未来农业发展的重要优势。

拿督刘顺泰表示，沙巴农业在现代化、标准化、规模化以及生产效率等方面仍有很大的提升空间。通过此次交流，SCCC希望引进先进的农业技术、专业人才以及创新管理理念，助力沙巴农业产业实现转型升级。

🌱 Strengthening Sabah–China Agricultural Cooperation for a Modern Future 🌱

The Sabah China Chamber of Commerce (SCCC), led by President Datuk Frankie Liew Chun Kim, recently hosted a delegation from the Malaysia Jiangxi Chamber of Commerce for an in-depth exchange on agricultural modernization and strategic collaboration opportunities in Sabah.

During the session, both parties discussed the vast potential of Sabah’s agriculture sector, particularly in areas such as modern farming technology, crop cultivation methods, scientific management systems, talent exchange, and industrial cooperation. Sabah’s strong natural resources and favorable climate were recognized as key advantages for future agricultural development.

Datuk Frankie Liew Chun Kim emphasized that Sabah still has significant room for improvement in areas such as modernization, standardization, scalability, and production efficiency. Through this engagement, SCCC hopes to introduce advanced agricultural technologies, professional expertise, and innovative management concepts to support the transformation and upgrading of Sabah’s agriculture industry.

The Malaysia Jiangxi Chamber of Commerce delegation also shared valuable insights and expressed confidence in Sabah’s agricultural potential. The Sabah China Chamber of Commerce was honoured to host a distinguished delegation from Hunan Province on 25 April for a productive dialogue focused on exploring new opportunities in business, tourism, and cultural cooperation with Sabah.

Led by representatives from tourism, media, and corporate sectors, the visiting delegation engaged in meaningful discussions with Datuk Frankie Liew and members of SCCC on Sabah’s growing potential as a strategic gateway for investment and international tourism.

During the session, Datuk Frankie Liew introduced Sabah’s unique tourism offerings and shared four key strengths that position the state for future tourism and cultural industry development. The exchange also reflected strong mutual interest in strengthening people-to-people ties and economic collaboration between Sabah and China.

The delegates were Ma Gang, General Manager of Jilin China Travel Service; Ma Ben, Director of Hunan Broadcasting System; Lin Yibing, Programme Director of Economic Radio at Changchun Broadcasting Television Station; Tang Ruiman, Head of Audio at Hunan Broadcasting System; Liu Xiaoyu, Head of Video at Hunan Broadcasting System; Hao Yankun, Chairman of Beijing Chenrui Cultural Tourism Group Co., Ltd.; and Gao Lei, Business Director of Tsingtao Beer International Tourism Development Co., Ltd.

A key highlight of the visit was the presentation of a Letter of Intent from the Foreign Affairs Office of the Changchun Municipal People’s Government, proposing friendly cooperative city relations between Changchun and Kota Kinabalu. The letter was presented by Ma Gang to Datuk Frankie Liew, marking another encouraging step in Sabah-China friendship and regional collaboration.

Strengthening Sabah–China Tourism Collaboration

The Sabah China Chamber of Commerce (SCCC) held a constructive dialogue with the Sabah Tourism, Culture and Environment Ministry on 2 April, focusing on enhancing Sabah’s tourism landscape and strengthening international connectivity.

Led by SCCC President Datuk Frankie Liew, the delegation met with Minister Datuk Jafry Ariffin and Permanent Secretary Datuk Josie Lai to exchange insights on current challenges and future opportunities within Sabah’s tourism sector.

During the session, SCCC presented several practical and forward-looking recommendations, including:

沙巴中国总商会（SCCC）于客家礼堂成功举办年度盛事第三届理事会（2025–2028）就职典礼。

本次盛典共迎来逾1,000名嘉宾出席，包括民选代表、华社领袖、企业界人士，以及来自中国25个省市的代表，充分体现沙巴与中国之间日益紧密且不断深化的合作关系。

中国驻哥打京那巴鲁总领事朱兴龙阁下为大会主持开幕仪式，沙巴州财政部助理部长拿督张振彬则为青年企业家委员会及女企业家委员会第二届（2025–2028）就职典礼主持监誓。

📢 SCCC 3rd Term Installation Ceremony (2025–2028) Successfully Held in Kota Kinabalu

The Sabah China Chamber of Commerce (SCCC) marked its biggest annual event with the successful installation of its 3rd Term Executive Committee (2025–2028) at Hakka Hall.

The grand ceremony welcomed over 1,000 distinguished guests, including elected representatives, Chinese community leaders, corporate figures, and delegates from 25 provinces across China, reflecting the strong and growing ties between Sabah and China.

The event was officiated by H.E. Dr Zhu Xinglong, Consul-General of the People’s Republic of China in Kota Kinabalu, while Datuk Ben Chong, Sabah Assistant Finance Minister, officiated the 2nd Term Installation of the Youth Entrepreneurs and Women Entrepreneurs Committees (2025–2028).

✨ A key highlight of the evening was the official launch of
🔹 “SCCC Smart Connect” – a digital mini programme that marks a major milestone in SCCC’s digital transformation and modernised management approach.

In his address, SCCC President Datuk Frankie Liew outlined the Chamber’s strategic direction for the next three years, focusing on:

🔹 Strengthening bilateral Sabah–China connections
🔹 Driving implementation of concrete cooperation projects
🔹 Leveraging Sabah’s strengths in agriculture, tourism, renewable energy, and green economy
🔹 Connecting with China’s advantages in technology, capital, and market access

He also announced the establishment of a new
📌 Investment Project Information Department
— a one-stop platform to integrate investment policies, project opportunities, and collaboration needs between Sabah and China.

💡 In line with future development, SCCC continues to prioritise youth and women empowerment through the Youth Entrepreneurs Council and Women Entrepreneurs Council, providing platforms for training, study exchanges, and business growth.

🤝 The Chamber will also enhance engagement with government agencies in both Malaysia and China to deliver accurate policy insights, legal advisory, and business matching services to its members.

沙巴中国总商会（SCCC）近日成功举办了一场马中商务对接与交流会，欢迎来自中国各地的100多位企业家和行业代表，与沙巴本地企业展开深入交流与合作探讨。
此次活动由沙巴中国总商会会长拿督刘顺泰领导举办，旨在搭建一个加强双边商业联系的平台，促进知识分享，并探索新的合作领域。会议强调，双方合作的目标不仅仅是贸易往来，更在于通过合作、投资与创新创造长期价值。
与会者围绕多个潜在合作领域展开讨论，包括旅游发展、农业与食品产业、可再生能源、蓝色经济以及产业合作等。交流过程中也特别强调了沙巴作为推动马中经济合作深化的重要门户与战略角色。
此次活动标志着双方企业联系进一步加强，为实现可持续商业增长开辟了新的合作机遇。

The Sabah China Chamber of Commerce (SCCC) recently hosted a successful Malaysia–China Business Matching and Exchange Session, welcoming more than 100 entrepreneurs and industry representatives from across China to engage with local Sabah businesses.

Led by SCCC President Datuk Frankie Liew, the session served as a platform to strengthen bilateral business ties, encourage knowledge sharing, and explore new areas of cooperation. The dialogue emphasized that the objective is not merely trade, but creating long-term value through collaboration, investment, and innovation.

Discussions covered potential cooperation in areas such as tourism development, agricultural and food products, renewable energy, blue economy, and industrial collaboration. The exchange also highlighted Sabah’s strategic role as a gateway for deeper Malaysia–China economic partnerships.

The event marks another step forward in building stronger connections between enterprises from both sides, opening new opportunities for sustainable business growth.
