沙巴中国总商会（SCCC）于客家礼堂成功举办年度盛事第三届理事会（2025–2028）就职典礼。

本次盛典共迎来逾1,000名嘉宾出席，包括民选代表、华社领袖、企业界人士，以及来自中国25个省市的代表，充分体现沙巴与中国之间日益紧密且不断深化的合作关系。

📢 SCCC 3rd Term Installation Ceremony (2025–2028) Successfully Held in Kota Kinabalu

The Sabah China Chamber of Commerce (SCCC) marked its biggest annual event with the successful installation of its 3rd Term Executive Committee (2025–2028) at Hakka Hall.

The grand ceremony welcomed over 1,000 distinguished guests, including elected representatives, Chinese community leaders, corporate figures, and delegates from 25 provinces across China, reflecting the strong and growing ties between Sabah and China.

The event was officiated by H.E. Dr Zhu Xinglong, Consul-General of the People’s Republic of China in Kota Kinabalu, while Datuk Ben Chong, Sabah Assistant Finance Minister, officiated the 2nd Term Installation of the Youth Entrepreneurs and Women Entrepreneurs Committees (2025–2028).

✨ A key highlight of the evening was the official launch of
🔹 “SCCC Smart Connect” – a digital mini programme that marks a major milestone in SCCC’s digital transformation and modernised management approach.

In his address, SCCC President Datuk Frankie Liew outlined the Chamber’s strategic direction for the next three years, focusing on:

🔹 Strengthening bilateral Sabah–China connections
🔹 Driving implementation of concrete cooperation projects
🔹 Leveraging Sabah’s strengths in agriculture, tourism, renewable energy, and green economy

— a one-stop platform to integrate investment policies, project opportunities, and collaboration needs between Sabah and China.

💡 In line with future development, SCCC continues to prioritise youth and women empowerment through the Youth Entrepreneurs Council and Women Entrepreneurs Council, providing platforms for training, study exchanges, and business growth.

The Sabah China Chamber of Commerce (SCCC) recently hosted a successful Malaysia–China Business Matching and Exchange Session, welcoming more than 100 entrepreneurs and industry representatives from across China to engage with local Sabah businesses.

Led by SCCC President Datuk Frankie Liew, the session served as a platform to strengthen bilateral business ties, encourage knowledge sharing, and explore new areas of cooperation. The Sabah China Chamber of Commerce (SCCC), led by President Datuk Frankie Liew, recently organized a 5-day business study delegation to Hainan, China, with the objective of gaining deeper insights into the development of the Hainan Free Trade Port.

The delegation engaged in a series of visits and exchanges to better understand the policy advantages, operational framework, and industrial ecosystem of the Free Trade Port, particularly in light of the upcoming customs closure operation.

As coastal regions with complementary economic structures, Sabah and Hainan present strong potential for cooperation in areas such as trade, tourism, technology, and agro-processing. The visit also included engagements with enterprises, tourism projects, and innovation initiatives, providing valuable perspectives on industry development and market opportunities.

*China Tech Transfer Welcomed to Strengthen Education & Innovation in Sabah*

Technology transfer from China has been identified as a key strategic move to strengthen Sabah’s education, science, technology, and innovation ecosystem.

During a courtesy visit by the Sabah-China Chamber of Commerce delegation led by its President, Datuk Frankie Liew, the Sabah State Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Datuk James Ratib, emphasised that innovation is a major driving force behind Sabah’s development. He welcomed technology and expertise from China, particularly in advanced fields such as Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and artificial intelligence (AI), in line with the state’s long-term development agenda.

The Ministry expressed openness to strategic collaboration between the government, private sector, and industry players to facilitate technology transfer, talent development, and the adoption of new technologies. Such partnerships are seen as vital in enhancing human capital, strengthening skills training, and building a sustainable technology-driven economy for Sabah.

The Sabah-China Chamber of Commerce reaffirmed its commitment to continue working closely with relevant stakeholders, leveraging strong industry networks in China to open opportunities for cooperation, investment, and expertise sharing that will benefit Sabah’s education and innovation landscape.

The Sabah China Chamber of Commerce (SCCC) will be holding its Third Council Swearing-In Ceremony on Monday, 16 March 2026, in the evening at Hakka Hall, Tanjung Lipat, Kota Kinabalu.

In preparation, SCCC President Datuk Frankie Liew led a delegation of council members on courtesy visits to key advisors to brief them on the Chamber’s progress and future direction, as well as to extend formal invitations to the ceremony.

The delegation paid visits to Honorary Advisor Tan Sri Paul Lim and Investment Advisor Datuk Prof. NK Foo, expressing sincere appreciation for their long-standing guidance and support. Both leaders were highly commended for their significant contributions to Sabah’s economic development, the Chinese community, and Sabah–China investment and trade cooperation.

The Third Council marks a new milestone for SCCC, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening collaboration between Sabah and China, uniting the Chinese business community, and advancing regional development in economy, trade, culture, and education.

The Chamber also expressed its appreciation to Consul General Zhu Xinglong of the People’s Republic of China in Kota Kinabalu for graciously agreeing to serve as Guest of Honour and Oath-Administering Official at the ceremony.

Datuk Frankie Liew, President of the Sabah China Chamber of Commerce (SCCC), recently met with Mr. Fu Changhong, Chairman of Jiangxi Aiye Herbal Medicine Co., Ltd., to explore investment opportunities in Sabah and future collaboration in expanding into overseas markets.

Both parties engaged in productive discussions and successfully reached a preliminary cooperation intention.

• Aiye intends to establish a modern production base in Sabah with advanced facilities.

🔹 The event brought together over 200 representatives from China (including Jiangxi, Zhengzhou, Henan, Guangdong, and Jilin), along with business leaders, government officials and key industry players from Sabah.
🔹 Multiple Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed covering sectors such as agriculture (especially Gannan navel oranges), ceramics, intelligent manufacturing, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), trade, and supply solutions.
🔹 Chinese enterprises expressed strong interest in investing in Sabah and collaborating in areas such as procurement, branding, technology transfer, and market development.
🔹 The Jiangxi delegation officially welcomed Sabah entrepreneurs to invest in the province, identifying Sabah as a gateway into ASEAN markets.
🔹 A contribution of RM20,000 was also announced in support of Chinese education for five Sabah Chinese primary schools.

在上海举行的第八届中国国际进口博览会（CIIE）上，沙巴中国总商会（SCCC）会长拿督刘顺泰呼吁全球华侨华人加强与中国的合作，共同打造共享共赢的未来。

他指出马来西亚多元文化和谐共融，而大马华社更通过教育、文化、贸易与创新，成为连接中国与东南亚的重要桥梁。

会长拿督刘顺泰强调，SCCC青年企业家委员会致力于培养新一代企业家，指出青年领导力与创新能力是推动马中合作向前发展的关键动力。

他表示：“海外华社的价值在于凝聚人心、连接世界，并共同塑造未来。”

At the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai, Sabah China Chamber of Commerce (SCCC) President Datuk Frankie Liew called on the global Chinese community to strengthen collaboration with China and jointly build a future of shared success.

He highlighted Malaysia’s rich multicultural harmony and the Malaysian Chinese community’s role as a bridge linking China and Southeast Asia through education, culture, trade, and innovation.

Datuk Frankie emphasized empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs through the SCCC Young Entrepreneurs Committee, noting that youth leadership and innovation are key to advancing Malaysia–China cooperation.
