*Fund Raising for House Repair*
Just visited Gombak orang asli kak Ain's house. The house was crushed a large collapsed tree in February. The house is in a complete ruin, except for part of the living room and a small room. Since there is no extra money to repair the house, kak Ain can only sleep in the living room, and her 2 children in the small room. Her husband works in the orchard with a daily salary of RM50, and now sleeps in the dormitory provided by the orchard. It has been raining a lot recently, and their house is in urgent needs for repairs. The maintenance fee is estimated to be RM8000 (Material/Hardware-RM7000+, Labor/Transportation/Miscellaneous Fees-RM1000). Up until now (August 28th), she has not been able to get approval for the grant application from the government agency - jabatan Kemajuan orang asli (JAKOA), despite countless enquiries for a follow up on the grant status. We would like to start a fundraiser here and try to get the necessary funds by the third week of September.
