The ASEAN-Japan Young Environmental Leaders Network (AJYELN), organized by the ASEAN-Japan Centre, is a prestigious platform empowering young champions from 10 ASEAN Member States and Japan to develop youth-led solutions against the plastic pollution crisis. Out of 104 competitive applications across the region, Umar Asyraf’s initiative, “Project: Shore Up!”, has successfully advanced as one of the top 22 finalists eligible for the project pitching stage.

About Project: Shore Up!

• Targets to mobilize 150 volunteers across 5 different universities.
• Features virtual sustainability workshops, beach clean-ups, and data collection.
• Aims to submit a comprehensive environmental report to the local municipal council.

With only 11 final projects selected to receive an ex*****on grant worth ¥100,000, UNITEN stands fully behind Umar Asyraf for the upcoming pitching session. We wish him the absolute best of luck in bringing this impactful project to life.
