“Successfully Advocated for a Shorter Exam Departure Restriction! 成功争取缩短考试离场限制！”

Many students have likely encountered a situation where after completing the exam early and preparing to submit the paper to leave, the invigilator announces the rigid rule of “no leaving during the final 30 minutes.” After a long period of intense concentration, early finishers are unable to use the washroom or leave to rest, forced to wait helplessly in their seats.

The VOY-SRC understands this physical and mental inconvenience. To make the exam rules more accommodating, the Council brought this concern to the meeting room to discuss the possibility of adjusting the exam departure policy with the university management. Recently, this request has been successfully implemented. Starting from the upcoming exams, the restricted period for leaving the exam hall before the exam ends will be officially shortened from 30 minutes to 20 minutes.

The Council will continue to pay close attention to your campus life experience to drive practical changes on campus.

相信不少同学都曾面临这样的情况，在考场上提早完成试卷并正准备交卷离场时，却遇到考官宣布“最后30分钟不得离场”的硬性规定。经历了长时间的紧绷作答后，提早交卷的同学不仅无法及时前往洗手间，也无法离开考场休息，只能在座位上无奈等待。

优大青年之声学代会深知这种生理与心理上的双重不便。为了让考场规则更人性化，本会在此前的会议中，将同学们的真实困扰反映给校方，并探讨了调整离场规定的可能性。近日，这项诉求已成功获得落实。从来临的考试起，考试结束前禁止离场的时间将从原本的 30 分钟正式缩短至 20 分钟。

本会将持续关注大家的校园生活体验，以推动各项实质的改变。

This year marks Malaysia’s 69th anniversary of independence. The long journey we have walked is more than just history, it is a constant reminder that our peace and stability today did not come easily. Every August 31st, as we celebrate together, we should also take a moment to deeply reflect on the true weight of the word “independence.”

The meaning of independence should never just remain in history textbooks, it should be reflected in how we treat national symbols in our daily lives. Recently, the national flag controversy has resurfaced. The VOY-SRC believes that true patriotism should be built upon mutual guidance and tolerance, rather than harsh condemnation of unintentional errors. True independence requires a mature civic mind and the ability to have rational discussions. . As university students, we cannot simply look away from social dynamics. Instead , we must exercise our power as youths to keep the system in check and work together to safeguard the foundation of this country .

May we cherish this hard-won peace and co-create the next chapter for Malaysia. The VOY-SRC wishes everyone a Happy National Day!

这么多年的风雨兼程，不仅是一段历史，更提醒着我们今日的和平与安稳来之不易。每逢8月31日，我们除了举国同庆，更应深刻反思“独立”二字的真正分量。

独立的意义从来不该只停留在历史课本里，而是应该体现在我们如何对待日常生活中的国家象征。 近期国旗事件再度引发争议。优大青年之声学代会认为，真正的爱国精神应建立在包容与互相提醒之上，而非对无心之失过度苛责。真正的独立，要求我们具备成熟的公民素养与理性对话的能力。身为大专生，我们绝不能对社会动态置身事外，而是应该发挥青年监督的力量，共同守护这片土地的底线。

愿我们珍惜这来之不易的和平，携手书写属于马来西亚的下一页。优大青年之声学代会在此祝大家国庆日快乐！

Welcome to Our Newly Appointed Executive Associates!
Campus reform cannot be achieved by individual efforts alone. The VOY-SRC has always believed that gathering passionate people together is the best way to turn campus concerns into action.
Today, the council is deeply honoured to welcome the new cohort of Executive Associates. Your arrival not only brings new life to our team but also creates endless possibilities for future campus reforms.
Driving campus change is a long journey, but as long as we work hand in hand, we can keep moving forward. The council extends its most sincere welcome and gratitude to all Executive Associates. A better campus doesn't happen by chance.
It is built together by people who are willing to listen, speak up, and take action.

Over the past 6 years, the VOY-SRC has turned students’ voices into meaningful initiatives from Mental Health Leave, the Period Project, the Sharing Project, Self Defence Item Distribution Program, to Gender Equality Week. None of these were empty promises. Every project began with a real student's need and became a reality through teamwork and determination.

Now, the council is looking for the next group of students who are ready to make a difference.
You do not need years of experience or an impressive résumé. What matters most is your willingness to learn, to care, and to contribute.
As an Executive Associate (EA), you will gain practical experience, work alongside passionate teammates, and most importantly, play a part in creating real change for the UTAR campus.

Because change doesn't happen on its own, it starts with people who choose to take the first step.
The council believes that every student deserves the right to speak and the power to change the campus. Let us join hands and work together to make our ideals a reality step by step on the path to “Campus Democracy and Student Autonomy.”

Student Representative Council (SRC) UTAR Sungai Long Campus 2026/27 | First Monthly Meeting

A new academic year marks a new beginning, and for us, a renewed commitment to every student.

On 29 July 2026, the Student Representative Council (SRC) governed by the Voice of Youtharian (VOY) officially held its first monthly meeting, beginning another year of service, advocacy, and action.

This year, the VOY-SRC cabinet will continue to operate through four secretariats:
• Treasury
• Student Rights
• Public Relations
• Clubs and Societies

Though our roles differ, our mission remains the same to build a campus where every student feels heard and respected.

Over the past six years, from Mental Health Leave, the Period Project, Personal Safety Alarm Project, and the Sharing Project, to Gender Equality Week, every initiative began with one belief:

“What students truly need deserves a dedicated response.”

In the new year, we will continue to listen to every voice, fulfill every promise, and uphold the principles we have always believed in:

Campus Democracy, Student Autonomy.

Thank you for your trust and support. Here is to another year of listening, advocating, and taking action together
2026/27 年度优大双溪龙校区学生代表会|首次例会

新的学年，意味着新的开始；对我们而言，更意味着一份新的责任。

2026 年 7 月29日，由优大青年之声（VOY）所执政的优大双溪龙校区学生代表会正式召开本年度首次例会，开启新一年的服务、倡议与行动。

今年，优大青年之声学代会内阁将继续由四个秘书处组成：
• 财务秘书处
• 学生权益秘书处
• 公共关系秘书处
• 学会与社团秘书处

虽然大家岗位不同，但使命一致，就是让每一位学生都能被听见、被尊重。

过去六年，从推动心理健康假、发起月经计划、提供防狼物品计划、推行共享计划到性别平等周，每一项行动都源自同一个信念：

“学生真正需要的事情，值得被认真回应。”

新的一年，我们将继续倾听每一个声音，兑现每一份承诺，并坚持我们一直相信的理念：

校园民主，学生自治。

感谢每一位给予我们信任与支持的同学。

未来，我们将继续倾听、继续争取、继续行动。

Over the past year, the VOY-SRC has remained committed to the promises we made to students during the campus election, and we have worked diligently to deliver on every pledge in our manifesto.

However, we have never believed that the role of student representatives is limited to merely "serving." Having been entrusted by students with the opportunity to lead the Student Representative Council, we cannot afford to betray that trust. Instead, we have chosen to make meaningful use of the mandate given to us by speaking up on areas where our university's system remains inadequate, offering constructive feedback, recommendations, and concrete proposals for improvement.

Some may say that this group of young people asks for too much. Yet a closer look at history reveals that under the Universities and University Colleges Act (UUCA), student unions were reduced to Student Representative Councils, with clearly defined limits on their authority. Even so, the VOY-SRC has never chosen to remain passive. Instead, we have consistently sought to maximise the freedom and autonomy available to students within the existing framework.

Because we firmly believe that while laws may limit the powers of students, they can never limit our imagination of what an ideal university life should be.

Finally, we extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who has continued to believe in and support the VOY-SRC throughout the past year. May the ideals we have always upheld, which is "Campus Democracy, Student Autonomy", continue to take root and flourish on the grounds of Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, growing into a mighty tree that will one day shelter and protect every student who walks through its gates.

过去一整年，优大青年之声学代会始终记得校园竞选期时对学生许下的承诺，并努力落实每一项竞选宣言。

但我们从不认为，学生代表的工作仅限于"服务"。既然学生把执政学代会的机会交到我们手中，我们便不能辜负学生们的委托。为此，我们选择善用这份委托，为这所大学制度尚未完善的地方，提出看法、意见以及具体的改进方案。

也许有人会认为，这一班年轻人，想要的太多了。但如果大家深入了解历史,会发现在大专法令的钳制下，学生会被降格为"学生代表会"，我们所拥有的权力有其边界。但优大青年之声学代会选择的，从不是坐以待毙，而是在现有的框架内，为学生尽可能地争取自由与自主。

因为本会始终相信，法令限制得了学生的权力，却限制不了我们对理想大学生活的想象。

最后，感谢这一年来，始终选择相信与支持优大青年之声学代会的每一位。愿优大青年之声始终坚信的校园自主、学生自治这一理念，能在拉曼大学的土地上继续茁壮成长，直至成为参天大树，为每一位踏入这所大学的学生遮风挡雨。
