🇲🇾 Celebrating Merdeka, Fulfilling Our Human Duties 🌱

Merdeka is not only about celebrating our independence, but also about recognising our duties to one another and to the generations after us.

Through our Merdeka Beutification Project at Sungai Chua Recreation Park, JCI Bandar Kajang worked together with our community partners to turn our shared responsibility into action.

From planting 69 hibiscus plants celebrating our 69th National Day, to the EM Mudball tossing, Zumba and Jalur Gemilang distribution, every activity was a small step towards a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable community.

This reflects three important principles of International Human Duties: Preserve Life, Serve Humanity and Sustain For Future.

Our duty does not end with caring for people today. It also means protecting the environment, improving our shared spaces and leaving a better community for those who come after us.

When individuals, youth organisations, community groups and public institutions work together, our collective responsibility becomes collective action.

The project was implemented through collaboration with Pusat Khidmat Rakyat Parlimen Bangi, Pusat Khidmat Masyarakat DUN Balakong, Pejabat Ahli Majlis MPKj Zon 9, Pejabat Penerangan Daerah Hulu Langat, Komuniti MADANI Sungai Chua, JPKK Kampung Baru Sungai Chua, and Penggerak Belia Selangor.

This was also a Rakan Bumi project under the Rakan Muda initiative by Pejabat Belia dan Sukan Daerah Hulu Langat, strengthening its environmental and youth development component.

Special thanks to YB Syahredzan Johan, Member of Parliament for Bangi, and YB Wayne Ong Chun Wei, Balakong State Assemblyperson for joining us.

Together, we can create a global movement that transforms leadership into action and responsibility into impact.
