During a terrible storm, an eagle fell from the sky and crashed onto the ground. She was badly hurt and could not move. Looking up at the dark sky with tears in her eyes, she whispered:
“Please help me… I can’t fly anymore…”
A magpie sitting on a branch laughed at her and said:
“You deserve this! You always flew higher than everyone else and were too proud. Look at you now.”
Other birds circled above her without caring. No one stopped to help. The eagle felt weak, hungry, and completely alone. Little by little, she started losing hope.
Then, from behind some bushes, a soft voice said:
“I am very small… but maybe I can help you.”
It was a tiny sparrow. Small, quiet, and often unnoticed by others.
The little sparrow brought the eagle tiny pieces of bread, drops of water, and leaves to make her comfortable. He even built a safe shelter for her between the roots of a tree.
The eagle asked weakly,
“Why are you helping me?”
The sparrow replied,
“Because you are alive. And if I were the one suffering, I would hope someone would help me too.”
Days passed. The eagle still could not fly, but the sparrow stayed beside her every day. He brought food, told stories, and sang soft songs to keep her company.
Slowly, the eagle became stronger again.
One day, she finally opened her large wings and realized that she had gained more than her strength back — she had found a true friend.
Soon spring arrived.
One morning, while the little sparrow was searching for seeds on the ground, a hawk suddenly rushed toward him. The sparrow had no time to escape.
But just then, a huge shadow appeared in the sky.
It was the eagle.
Strong and fearless, she flew down and chased the hawk away with her powerful wings.
Shaking with fear, the sparrow said,
“You saved my life…”
The eagle smiled gently and replied,
“No. You saved mine first. You taught me that even the smallest heart can carry the greatest kindness.”
Moral:
Never ignore kindness, no matter how small it may seem.
Some people may not have much, but they still help others with all their heart. Those people are truly special — kind, honest, and full of light.
Goodness is never wasted. Sooner or later, kindness always comes back.
Yes, there are selfish and ungrateful people in the world.
But there are also good people who are sincere, caring, and grateful.
For them, kindness is not something they do.
It is simply who they are.
