Communication is more than words. Understanding begins when we are willing to learn another way of connecting.
Lions Club of JB Austin is pleased to support “Conversation Beyond Words｜无声对话” as a Community Outreach Partner, an experiential programme organised by PLAYDAY together with NowBIM.
Through an introduction to Deaf culture and basic BIM – Malaysian Sign Language, participants will experience greetings, self-introduction, fingerspelling, numbers, everyday conversations and interactive group practice.
But this experience is about more than learning signs.
It is an opportunity to understand how communication, identity and culture are experienced differently, and how respect begins when we make space for another person’s way of expressing themselves.
Most meaningfully, 100% of ticket revenue will support NowBIM, extending the impact of the programme beyond the classroom.

有些对话，不需要声音，也能够被听见。
新山奥斯汀狮子会很荣幸以 Community Outreach Partner #公益计划宣传伙伴 身份，支持由 PLAYDAY 联合 NowBIM 推动的 《无声对话｜Conversation Beyond Words》。
活动将带领参与者认识聋人文化，并从零开始接触 BIM 马来西亚手语，包括打招呼、自我介绍、手指拼字、数字、日常对话及小组互动练习。
但这一次体验的意义，并不只是“学会几个手语动作”。
而是让我们暂时离开自己最熟悉的沟通方式，去理解另一种文化、另一种表达，也重新思考：当声音不再是主要工具，我们还能怎样真正听见彼此？
更有意义的是，活动门票收入 100% 将用于支持 NowBIM，让这一场关于理解与尊重的学习，继续延伸成为实际的公益支持。
不同的表达方式，同样值得被理解。
