Building The Startup Community in Johor
Started in 2014 after we attended the Startup Weekend in Cyberjaya, in conjunction with the launch of Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre (MaGIC) by President Obama.
With the support from Mr Ganesh Kumar Bangah, Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA), MSC Cyberport, UP Global, YES, UTM, What’s Going On In Johor Bahru and a lot other partners. The community came together and we ran our 1st ever Startup Weekend in Johor Bahru.
The whole idea is - If it can be done elsewhere, why can’t we build a network here in the southern region of Malaysia to support entrepreneurs and tech enthusiast to build a tech startup.
With the support of Iskandar Investment Berhad (IIB) & Khazanah Nasional Berhad (KNB), we launched one of the largest coworking space in Iskandar Puteri, IskandarSpace and currently hosting more than 80 coworkers in Medini.
