Silent Book Club JB presents: Read*Play*Discuss - A Merdeka Special 🇲🇾

Looking for a chill way to celebrate Merdeka month? We’re heading up to the rooftop for an evening of good books, core childhood memories and sharp conversations! The details:

📅 Date: 16 August 2026 (Sunday)
⏰ Time: 4:30pm onwards
📍 Place: TMIYC Iskandar Puteri Rooftop

Here is the lineup:
📖 Read: Bring your own book (better if it’s by a local author) and catch the sunset during our signature silent reading hour.

🎯 Play: Relive your school days with traditional games and a spread of nostalgic childhood snacks. Plus, test your local lore in our quick Malaysia history pop quiz!

🗣️ Discuss: As night falls, we’ll move downstairs to Panggung Kopi (ground floor) for a discussion presented by environmental and anti-colonial activist Nurul Shakila Mohamad Zain.

Admission is free and open to everyone, no RSVP needed. Grab your current read, bring a friend and let’s vibe 🇲🇾 See you there! ✨

📚 18 July (Sat) - It’s reading time! Join us at Hutan Bandar Mutiara Rini (MBIP) from 8.30am-10.30am for a peaceful morning of reading.

✨ It’s free!

📖 Bring any book of your choice (any language, any genre).
🧺 Pack a mat or folding chair.
💳 Don’t forget your SBCJB loyalty card (or grab one from us if it’s your first time!).

Feel free to share your current reads with us, we love hearing from you 🤓

Vol 33: 🌅 Sunset Stories was an absolute success! We couldn’t have asked for better weather - a breezy evening to read as the sky turned from warm orange to cool twilight.

It was heartwarming to see so many people connecting over their current reads and laughing together during rounds of boardgames with new friends made. The community vibes were stronger than ever! 🎲

Vol. 32: The weather was on our side for our May reading session!🌞

It was such a lovely morning being back at the lake - some painted, others scribbled notes, most read books while soaking in the serene surroundings.

We had fun catching up with our fellow readers and seeing what everyone was reading. Thanks for coming out and we can’t wait to see you all again real soon ✨

Vol 31: What a lovely night! Great company, fun activities and such a cosy space… honestly, what more could we ask for?

Thank you for spending your Friday night winding down with us. From getting lost in your books to diving into trivia and some boardgame chaos, it was such a joy seeing everyone just be 🌊✨

We’re switching things up this April with a surprise Silent Book Club JB session and trust us, you don’t want to miss this one.

We’ve teamed up with .jb and to bring you an evening that’s equal parts chill and fun on April 24 (Friday), from 7.30pm onwards. The perfect way to ease out of the work week and slide into the weekend.
