โCoffee Talk for Women in Businessโ Explores ESG and Womenโs Influence
(Johor Bahru) Recently, โCoffee Talk for Women in Business,โ organized by Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast, concluded successfully. The event brought together women entrepreneurs and leaders from various fields to explore how ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) can create long-term value for both businesses and society.
The atmosphere was warm and inspiring, with speakers sharing insights on โwomenโs empowerment,โ โinner growth,โ and โsocial responsibility.โ They emphasized that women not only play a vital role in the business world but also have a profound influence within families and society.
Among the speakers, Cabinet Secretary of Lions Clubs International District 308B3, as well as the member of Lions Club of Skudai and entrepreneur, Serene Low, shared:
โWomen can begin from alignment (inner alignment). By improving themselves and living consciously, they can gradually influence their families, society, and even future generations.โ
She further explained that true social impact does not necessarily come from grand actions, but often begins with daily self-growth and leading by example. When a woman is stable, clear, and purposeful, her influence naturally extends to her children and family, ultimately shaping a more responsible and value-driven society.
Siti Norazliyana, Sustainability & ESG Manager of Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast, highlighted in her sharing that ESG is not merely a corporate strategy or policy, but a mindset of responsibility that can be practiced in daily life. She emphasized:
โSustainability is not an unattainable conceptโit begins with every individualโs choices, including environmental awareness, healthy living, and responsibility toward public spaces and society.โ
She added that while businesses play a key role in driving ESG initiatives, active participation from the public is equally important. Only through connection from individuals to families, and from businesses to communities, can the goals of sustainable development truly be achieved.
The organizer noted that childrenโs behavior in public often reflects family upbringing, and the overall quality of society is built upon the collective efforts of every household.
