The Board of Directors of Lions Club of Skudai was pleased to attend the Region 3 Zone 8 Meeting held at ๆ˜Žๅพทๅญฆๅ ‚ on 31 July 2026.

The meeting provided a valuable platform for fellowship, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas among fellow Lions clubs within the zone. Through meaningful discussions and shared experiences, we continue to strengthen our commitment to serving our communities with unity and purpose.

We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to Sin Chew Daily (ๆ˜Ÿๆดฒๆ—ฅๆŠฅ) for featuring our โ€œShe Deserves Safetyโ€ awareness project held at SMK (P) Sultan Ibrahim (SIGS), Johor Bahru.

Your coverage helps amplify the important message of creating a safer environment for our children and youth by raising awareness on anti-bullying and sexual harassment prevention. Through media support, we can reach more parents, educators, and members of the community, inspiring collective action to protect and empower the next generation.

This meaningful project was made possible through the collaboration between Lions Club of Skudai, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), and SMK (P) Sultan Ibrahim (SIGS). We are grateful to all speakers, school representatives, volunteers, and partners who contributed to the success of this initiative.

Today, members of the Lions Club of Skudai had the privilege of visiting Sametha Krishna and her family to better understand her journey and offer our support.

At just 21 years old, Samethaโ€™s life changed forever after a tragic hit-and-run accident left her with severe injuries. Over the past two years, she has endured multiple surgeries, intense rehabilitation, and countless challenges. Yet, through it all, she has never given up on her dreams.

Sametha will travel to India this October for another crucial surgery that could help her walk confidently again.

Her courage, resilience, and determination have truly inspired us.

On 12 September 2026, the Symphony of Hope Dinner Night will be held to raise funds for her ongoing medical treatment. Every contribution and every prayer brings Sametha one step closer to her dream of walking again.

Lions Club of Skudai was honoured to attend the exclusive Johor Bahru Premiere of ITAM: A Sun Bear Story, Malaysiaโ€™s first feature-length wildlife documentary, held at GSC Mid Valley Southkey.

The film tells the remarkable true story of Itam, an orphaned Bornean Sun Bear who was rescued, rehabilitated, and courageously returned to the wild. More than just a documentary, it is a powerful reminder of the importance of wildlife conservation, environmental protection, and preserving Malaysiaโ€™s rich natural heritage for future generations.

As Lions, we believe that serving our community also means caring for our environment. Through meaningful stories like ITAM, we are inspired to play our part in protecting nature and creating a more sustainable future.

Congratulations to Director Raymond Tan, narrator Baki Zainal, Brainchild Pictures, and everyone involved in bringing this inspiring Malaysian story to the big screen.
