YSF RECEIVE RM 50,000 IN DONATIONS TO SUPPORT LITTLE YU HUI’S MEDICAL JOURNEY

Following last Sunday’s hospital visit, more individuals and organisations have stepped forward to offer financial support to little Chia Yu Hui who is battling atrioventricular septal defect (AVSD) through Yayasan Sultanah Fatimah (YSF).

The donations, totalling RM50,000, came from a group of generous contributors: Datin Nicole Fam Yuen Nee, Chairman of Persatuan Kebajikan Kasih Sayang (Ai Xin) Malaysia, who donated RM30,000; YSF Director Dato’ Ng Chong Boon, who contributed RM10,000; Mr Thomas, who gave RM5,000; Green Blossom Enterprise and Mr Darren Fam, who each donated RM2,000 and Mr Tiong Yee Meng who donated RM 1,000.

YSF Chairman, YB Mejar Cina Dato’ David Wong Khong Soon received the cheques from Datin Nicole Fam and her husband, Dato’ Wong Yong Kiong, as well as from Dato’ Ng Chong Boon, at the YSF office today (17 July), before personally handing them over to Yu Hui’s father, Mr Chia Chen Hui.

Dato’ David expressed his gratitude at the overwhelming response, noting how quickly individuals, companies, and organisations had come together to support Yu Hui in her time of need.

“She will need to undergo more surgeries, and her family will need all the support they can get. I’m deeply grateful for the trust and generosity our donors continue to show YSF,” he said.

YSF BRING RM75,000 TO KUALA LUMPUR TO SUPPORT BANGSA JOHOR FAMILY

Yayasan Sultanah Fatimah (YSF) travelled to Kuala Lumpur today (12 July) to visit seven-year-old Chia Yu Hui, a young Johorean who has been courageously battling a congenital heart condition known as atrioventricular septal defect (AVSD).

Yu Hui’s situation was brought to the attention of YSF Chairman, YB Mejar Cina Dato’ David Wong Khong Soon, by Rhino Group Sdn Bhd Managing Director, Mr Ng Wee Tiong.

Deeply moved by the family’s plight, Dato’ David personally led a donation initiative together with Mr Ng, YSF’s Legal Advisor, Dato’ Tea Choo Keng, and YSF volunteers Mr Lee Ah Kaw and Mr Jacky Lim to help ease the family’s mounting medical expenses.

YSF contributed RM20,000, while Dato’ David personally donated another RM20,000.

Rhino Group Sdn Bhd and Greenway Nursery Sdn Bhd, through the generosity of their management and staff, each contributed RM10,000.

Meanwhile, Dato’ Tea, Mr Lee and Mr Jacky each donated RM5,000, bringing the total amount raised to RM75,000.

Dato’ David, Mr Ng and his partner, Mr Ryan Woo personally handed the cheque to Yu Hui’s parents at Gleneagles Kuala Lumpur during the visit.

Yu Hui was admitted to Gleneagles Kuala Lumpur for an open-heart operation involving the Fontan procedure, which generally carries a success rate of about 95%.

Sadly, she developed severe post-operative complications and has since undergone four open-heart surgeries within the span of just one month in efforts to save her life.

She is currently receiving intensive care in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where her treatment costs have risen significantly due to the unexpected complications and prolonged hospitalisation.

The emotional and financial burden has also taken a heavy toll on her family. Her father, Mr Chia Chen Hui, who previously worked as a butcher, was forced to leave his job to care for Yu Hui alongside his wife, Mdm Swee Chew Ling.

The couple also has three other children at home in Segamat, Johor, whom they continue to support while caring for their youngest daughter.

YSF hopes its contribution and efforts will help ease the family’s financial burden during this difficult period while encouraging more caring individuals and organisations to come forward to offer a helping hand.
