YSF DISTRIBUTE FINANCIAL AID TO SCHOOLS IN BATU PAHAT

Yayasan Sultanah Fatimah (YSF) gave out a total of RM110,840 and RM224,400 respectively to Yong Peng High School and Chinese High School Batu Pahat yesterday (8 June).

In previous years, only 3000 selected B40 students were given financial assistance, but this year, every Chinese Independent High School students in Johor will be receiving RM 150 each.

The mock cheques were handed out by YSF Chairman, YB Mejar Cina Dato’ David Wong Khong Soon, and YSF Director as well as Johor State Health and Environment Committee Chairman, YB Ling Tian Soon, accompanied by Chairman of The State of Johor Chinese School Managers and Teachers Association, Tan Tai Kim.

In addition, YSF also distributed RM1,000 cash each to 18 Chinese Societies of secondary schools in Batu Pahat to assist them in carrying out their co-curricular and cultural activities.

During his speech, YB Ling Tian Soon said that Johor is blessed with a Sultan who consistently emphasises equality among all communities, and that the Johor Government has always upheld the same principle by reaching out to everyone in need.

He shared that when he informed YB Mejar Cina Dato’ David Wong Khong Soon that many secondary school Chinese Societies lacked sufficient resources to support their activities, Dato’ David immediately responded, “If nobody will help them, let us do it.”

YB Ling added that this reflects the spirit of Yayasan Sultanah Fatimah, the Johor Government and His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim — a spirit of caring, inclusiveness and ensuring that assistance reaches those who need it.

YSF BRING CHEER TO PEKAN NENAS WITH FOOD BASKETS AND ANGPAU

Yayasan Sultanah Fatimah (YSF) distributed food boxes and RM 250 angpau to 220 recipients of Pekan Nenas tonight (16th May).

YSF Chairman, YB Mejar Cina Dato’ David Wong Khong Soon handed out the angpaus to all the recipients with MP of Tanjung Piai, Dato’ Sri Dr. Wee Jeck Seng, ADUN Pekan Nenas, YB Tan Eng Meng, Ahli-ahli Majlis Perbandaran Pontian, Tuan Heng Zhi Li and Tuan Krishnan Kumar.

The angpau of a total of RM 55,000 was a personal contribution by YSF Director, Datuk Wira Ling Kah Chok.

In his speech, Dato’ David Wong expressed his gratitude to the King of Malaysia, His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim and the Johor Government led by Menteri Besar of Johor, YAB Dato’ Onn Hafiz Ghazi.

“His Majesty has always emphasized that assistance should be given to whoever in need, regardless of skin colour, race or religion and his guidance is heeded by the Johor Government as well.

“When we look around us, it is clear that families from various races — Malays, Indians, and Chinese — are all equally facing hardship and are in need of assistance.

“Let me remind everyone here that YSF’s sole purpose is to help those in need and have no regard for anything else. Unity is the upmost priority to ensure harmony among all,” he added.

Upon his arrival, Dato’ David Wong was greeted by a silat performance and also presented with a floral garland by Tuan Krishnan and a Ponnadai shawl to symbolize the Indian community’s respect towards him.

YSF DONATE RM 5,000 TO JOHOR BAHRU NA TOK KONG DRAGON DANCE ASSOCIATION

Yayasan Sultanah Fatimah (YSF) donated RM 5,000 to the Johor Bahru Na Tok Kong Dragon Dance Association during their 35th Anniversary last night (15th May).

YSF Chairman, YB Mejar Cina Dato’ David Wong Khong Soon attended the event as the Guest-of-Honour, invited by the association chairman, Mr Chong Ah Ng.

During his speech, Dato’ David Wong said that social challenges continue to rise in today’s world and it is more important than ever to provide our youth and teenagers with a meaningful platform where they can spend their time productively, develop discipline, build friendship, teamwork, and resilience.

“Through the dragon dance, our Chinese traditional heritage is passed on to the younger generation and they are not only learning an art form, but also carrying forward the values of perseverance, respect, and community,” he added.

Guests where entertained with dragon dance performances and a cake-cutting ceremony.

Special scholarships by the association for deserving students with flying colours were also presented by Dato’ David Wong and Mr Chong Ah Ng.

YSF DONATE RM 10,000 TO PEKAN NENAS TEMPLE

Yayasan Sultanah Fatimah donated RM 10,000 to the Pekan Nenas Tian Hau Gong Temple during their fund-raising dinner for the rebuilding of their temple held last night (10 May).

YSF Chairman, YB Mejar Cina Dato’ David Wong Khong Soon handed the cheque to the Pekan Nenas Tian Hau Gong Temple Chairman and Ahli Majlis Perbandaran Pontian, Mr Heng Zhi Li.

Pekan Nenas Tian Hau Gong Temple is the only one out of the six oldest temples in Pekan Nenas that has yet to be rebuilt, and they are hoping to raise enough funds so that reconstruction of the temple can start as soon as possible.

Dato’ David Wong said that it is with the support of the Johor Government that YSF is able to provide financial assistance to initiatives like this and help the Chinese community.

YSF PRESENT FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY COLLEGE STUDENTS

Yayasan Sultanah Fatimah (YSF) presented cash money to Southern University College students in collaboration with the Johor Government’s initiative to provide financial assistance to Bangsa Johor.

The money packet was presented by YSF Chairman, YB Mejar Cina Dato’ David Wong Khong Soon accompanied by YSF Director and Johor Health and Environment Committee Chairman, YB Ling Tian Soon and Southern University College’s Chairman of Board of Directors, Dato’ Vincent Tan Meng Seng.

A total of 1651 Bangsa Johor students and 251 faculty members and lecturers from Southern University College each received RM 500 from YSF.

This initiative is part of a broader effort by Menteri Besar Johor, YAB Dato’ Onn Hafiz Ghazi who has entrusted YSF to distribute financial aid to Johor citizens and YSF will continuously support and assist those in need.
