In previous years, only 3000 selected B40 students were given financial assistance, but this year, every Chinese Independent High School students in Johor will be receiving RM 150 each.
The mock cheques were handed out by YSF Chairman, YB Mejar Cina Dato’ David Wong Khong Soon, and YSF Director as well as Johor State Health and Environment Committee Chairman, YB Ling Tian Soon, accompanied by Chairman of The State of Johor Chinese School Managers and Teachers Association, Tan Tai Kim.
In addition, YSF also distributed RM1,000 cash each to 18 Chinese Societies of secondary schools in Batu Pahat to assist them in carrying out their co-curricular and cultural activities.

He shared that when he informed YB Mejar Cina Dato’ David Wong Khong Soon that many secondary school Chinese Societies lacked sufficient resources to support their activities, Dato’ David immediately responded, “If nobody will help them, let us do it.”
YB Ling added that this reflects the spirit of Yayasan Sultanah Fatimah, the Johor Government and His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim — a spirit of caring, inclusiveness and ensuring that assistance reaches those who need it.
