Title : Residual Current Devices (RCDs) Types In Modern Installations and Smooth DC Blinding Testing

RCD are classified by their ability to detect different residual current:
• Type AC: Pure sinusoidal AC leakage. Typical applications: Resistive loads, heaters
• Type A: AC + Pulsating DC. Typical applications: Appliances with electronics (LED drivers, induction cookers)
• Type B: AC + Pulsating DC + Smooth DC leakage. Typical applications: EVCS, Solar PV installations, VSD drives, UPS systems, BESS

Various tests carried out:
1. Current Operated Voltage Dependent (VD), Current Operated Voltage Independent (VI) types of RCDs
2. RCDs trip test using Digital RCD Tester under ac leakage condition (Type AC, Type A, Type B RCDs)
3. Smooth DC Blinding Test on RCDs (Type AC, Type A, Type B RCDs)

Horse Chinese New Year Greetings
