•Support the local Guide and Scout Associations in their

activities;

•Take part in local community work;
•Organise permanent education/training for its own members to help them in their personal development;
•Promote friendship among its members;
•Promote friendship with other Fellowships on national as well as international levels. Examples of local activities
•Transportation, catering, administration support for Scout/Guide camps;
•Excursions and other activities for disabled groups;
•Tree-planting and other environmental activities;
•Seminars and discussions on ethics and other relevant themes;
•Hikes, picnics for the Fellowship and their families;
•Twinning (correspondence, meetings) with other Fellowships (nationally or internationally). Members are encouraged to:
1.to keep alive the spirit of the Promise and Law as laid down by Baden-Powell, founder of the Scout and Guide Movements;
2.to bring that spirit into the communities in which they live and work; and

BP SCOUT GUILD
PERSAUDARAAN PENGAKAP BP

1. The Branch shall be called the BP Scout Guild _____ or Persaudaraan Pengakap BP ____ and shall accept all former members of the Scout and Guide Associations. And any person above the age of 18 who believes in the value of scouting and guiding and is prepared to live according to the Scout Promise and Law.
2. An Annual General Meeting of the Branch shall be held once a year, the date of such meeting shall be decided by the Committee elected at the previous Annual General Meeting.
3. The following honorary officers of the Branch shall be elected at the Annual General Meeting. President, Vice President, to the (if desired) Chairman (Guild Master) Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer, assistant Treasurer, Committee Members and Auditors.
4. The general management of the Branch shall be in the hands of a Committee consisting of the of the Honorary Chairman/ Guild Master and the appropriate number of committee members. Two thirds number of the committee shall constitute a quorum. The state commissioner or his nominee shall be a member of the committee.
5. The Committee shall meet as and when necessary, but not less than twice a year. All meetings shall be conveyed by the Secretary or his assistant.
6. The activities of the Branch shall be such as may be decided by the members, but may not include any activities that may be contrary to the sprit of scouting as defined in the constitution of Malaysian Scouts/Guides Assosciation of Malaysia.
7. The annual subscription payable by the members of the Branch shall be determined at the Annual General Meeting and membership of the Branch shall imply an undertaking to pay such subscription.
8. The committee shall present to the Annual General Meeting a report of their activities since the previous Annual General Meeting, together with a statement of the financial position. Copies of such reports shall be submitted to the Scout HQ.
9. The Annual General meeting shall have the power to amend these Bye-Laws as may be considered desirable in the interest of the Branch, by two thirds majority of those present and voting, subject to the approval of the Scouts Assosciation of Malaysia.
10. The Branch shall annually renew its membership with the Scouts Assosciation of Malaysia by submission of census. The fee of membership will be reviewed to enable the Guild to pay its membership to be affiliated with national and international guilds. Membership:
The Baden-Powell Guild is an adult organization sharing fellowship between former Scouts, Guides, Leaders and Committee persons with other interested persons and supporters at Local, State, National & International levels. Anyone may join a Guild – no previous Scouting or Guiding experience is required.. The annual registration for members is RM5. Please e-mail for a registration form. Usually,there is no set uniform – just what you normally wear plus a special scarf of distinction to show you are a member. Some states have a uniform. Some Guilds have a local arrangement. Decisions are left entirely to the local Guild members themselves
