HAPPY 16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM! 25th November - 10 December, each year.
Reposted from Maroondah City Council a star community who champions the values of One Billion Stars and works hard to bring people together, even on days like today, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
"It is also the first day of 16 Days of Activism Against Violence campaign that runs until Friday 10 December (Human Rights Day).
During the campaign we will be sharing messages about what how to call out disrespect, as gender equality is a precondition for the prevention of violence against women and children.
Acknowledging that LGBTIQA+ people, Indigenous women, and women with disabilities, experience a higher proportion of partner and family violence is the first step to end gender-based violence.
Equality is living free from violence, abuse and discrimination.
