A press conference was held this morning at Setia SPICE Convention Centre, Penang, to officially announce the return of the World Miniature Hobby Show (WMHS) & Malaysia Competition (MALCOM) — set to take place on 13–14 June 2026 and promising its biggest edition yet.

The press conference was graced by YB Wong Hon Wai 黄汉伟, Penang State EXCO for Tourism & Creative Economy; YB Wong Yuee Harng （王宇航）, State Assemblyman for Pengkalan Kota and Director of Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB); Mr. Ashwin Gunasekeran, Chief Executive Officer of Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB); Mr. Choo Huang Ming, Owner of World Hobby Miniatures and Organising Chair of WMHS & MALCOM; and Ms. Shelly Loo, Senior Manager of S P Setia Convention Centre, Penang.

This year’s edition features 100 exhibitors from more than 26 countries and regions, with an estimated 30,000 visitors expected over the two-day event. The show reflects the growing prominence of the miniature hobby and creative industry ecosystem while further positioning Penang as a platform for international engagement, innovation, and cultural exchange.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was formalised today between the Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB) and Edaran Otomobil Nasional Berhad (EON Berhad) at the St. Giles Wembley Penang, marking a strategic collaboration aimed at strengthening Penang’s business events ecosystem through innovation, sustainability and cross-industry partnership.

The MOU was signed by Mr. Mohammad Azwan Bin Yahaya, Chief Operating Officer of Automotive Retails, EON Berhad, and Mr. Ashwin Gunasekeran, Chief Executive Officer of Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB).

The signing ceremony was witnessed by YAB Chow Kon Yeow, Chief Minister of Penang; YB Wong Yuee Harng, State Assemblyman for Pengkalan Kota and Director of Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB); and Ms. May Tan, Head of Operations, Premium Division, EON Berhad.

The collaboration reflects a shared commitment towards enhancing Penang’s position as a preferred destination for conferences, conventions, exhibitions and corporate events, while creating greater opportunities for industry engagement, strategic networking and corporate visibility.

In line with Penang’s sustainability aspirations, the collaboration also introduces EON Berhad as the official mobility partner for conferences and business events in Penang. The initiative aims to support greener event operations while encouraging the adoption of more environmentally responsible practices within the business events ecosystem.

The Marriott International Malaysia, Penang Charity Golf Day & Dinner concluded on a high note over the weekend at the Penang Golf Club in Bukit Jambul, Bayan Lepas.

The event brought together nearly 60 golfers from across the country for a meaningful day of sportsmanship and community engagement, all in support of charitable causes benefiting Pertubuhan Rumah Kebajikan Seri Cahaya Pulau Pinang and UNICEF.
