We were privileged to hear from Adrian Ang of The Hive Co-Learning Space, Penang, who delivered an insightful presentation on "Big Dreams Begin With Small Habits." His inspiring message reminded us that meaningful achievements begin with small, consistent actions taken every day.

🔹 INTI College Interactors Fundraising Presentation
The club welcomed a presentation by INTI College Interactors, who shared their fundraising project in support of Mount Miriam Cancer Hospital. Their passion and commitment to service were truly encouraging.

🔹 Recognition for Outstanding Service
Several Rotarians were recognised for their exceptional dedication and contributions to Rotary, exemplifying our motto of Service Above Self.

🤝 The evening concluded with lively fellowship and meaningful conversations, strengthening the friendships and shared purpose that unite us as Rotarians.

Program "Jejak Itam": Empowering the Resilience of Penang Students Through Edutainment
​GEORGE TOWN, July 22 – A total of 400 participants, comprising 340 Form 2 and Form 3 students from 20 secondary schools, 40 accompanying teachers, as well as officers from the Penang State Education Department (JPN), District Education Office (PPD), and representatives from the Rotary Club of Penang and Rotary Club of Penang Strait, participated in the Program Jejak Itam: Didik Hibur Memperkasa Resilien Murid Negeri Pulau Pinang 2026, held at TGV Cinema, 1st Avenue, George Town today.
​Organized by the Penang State Education Department in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Penang, the program utilized an edutainment approach through the screening of the short film Itam: A Sun Bear Story as a learning medium to strengthen students' mental health, emotional well-being, and personal character. The program was designed to help students build self-resilience, empathy, and positive values when facing life challenges.
​The program focuses on enhancing students' resilience levels, fostering empathy, compassion, courage, and perseverance, while also raising awareness about emotional well-being, mental health, and the importance of environmental conservation through a fun and meaningful learning experience. This approach aligns with the Ministry of Education Malaysia's aspiration to produce balanced, resilient, and highly capable students.
​To measure the effectiveness of the program, all participants completed pre- and post-assessment instruments developed by the Student Affairs Unit of JPN Penang. The instrument evaluated four main domains: resilience, empathy, environmental awareness, and intent to act, while also incorporating elements of knowledge, Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS/KBAT), and self-reflection following the film screening.
​The Jejak Itam program is expected to serve as a high-impact platform in shaping a generation of students who are more resilient, caring, and capable of coping with life's pressures and challenges more positively. Through creative story-based approaches, students not only gain a meaningful learning experience but are also encouraged to practice noble values in their daily lives for the well-being of themselves, society, and the environment.
