Skål International Penang wrapped up a well-attended outdoor outing on 19th April 2026, with 27 members and guests joining a morning hike to Monkey Beach and Muka Head at Penang National Park, Teluk Bahang. The group set off at 8:00 AM, making their way through the park's jungle trails toward the coast.

The hike to Monkey Beach took approximately one & half hours, passing through Penang National Park's natural terrain before opening up to the beach. Participants who wanted to extend their morning took on the optional trail to Muka Head Lighthouse, an additional 1 hour climb that offered views across the northern coastline of the island.

At Monkey Beach, the group rested and refreshed at the beach stalls, where food and drinks were on hand. The return journey was made by boat back to Teluk Bahang, rounding off the event on a relaxed note.

The 27-strong turnout made for a lively outing, with members and guests sharing the trail across a mix of experience levels. It was a straightforward event done well, reflecting the social spirit that Skål International Penang continues to bring to its calendar.

Skål International Penang kicked off 2026 on a purposeful note, holding its Annual General Meeting at lyf Penang on 27th March 2026.

President FC Chong chaired the meeting, with Hon Secretary Dato Khoo Boo Lim by his side. Together, they guided members through the full agenda, covering key matters and mapping out the association's activities for the year ahead.

The AGM brought members together to align on priorities, review progress, and set the direction for Skål International Penang as the hospitality and travel industry continues to move forward in 2026.

With leadership in place and plans on the table, Skål International Penang heads into the year with clear focus and a shared commitment to its members and the wider industry.

The newly re-launched SKAL International Penang club held its first major event February 3rd 2026 with a hugely successful and fun Chinese New Year Celebration Dinner at the Marriott Penang Hotel.

The event was organsied by the SKAL Penang Committee headed by its President Mr FC Chong and the event’s organising Chairman Dato Khoo. The sit-down 8 course traditional Chinese New Year dinner was oversubscribed with more than 60 attendees including SKAL Members from KL and SKAL Germany. Guests included top executives from the HORECA sector as well as suppliers, tourist attraction operators, travel and services, mirroring the full range of industry sectors that SKAL attracts.

The evening began with an introduction to SKAL by Comms Dir Jeremy Clark and a welcome speech from the President. Dato Khoo MC’d the event which was peppered with fun and games and some impromptu singing!

The success of this networking event reflected the SKAL policy of “Health, Love, Long Life & Happiness” and the firm establishment of the new SKAL Penang Chapter which is already planning ahead for more activity for the benefit of members in the future.

A Night of Leadership and Unity - Skål International Penang Presidential Inauguration

What an inspiring evening we had at the Great Room, Penang Marriott Hotel on 18th August 2025!

Our tourism community came together to witness a significant milestone as FC Chong officially took on the role of President for Skål International Penang. The ceremony was made extra special with Shirley Lai from Skål Asia traveling to Penang to personally present the prestigious golden president chain.

The evening became even more meaningful when our newly inaugurated President FC Chong took the initiative to recognize his leadership team. Each key committee member received their official Skål pin from the president himself - a gesture that truly reflects his commitment to collaborative leadership and team recognition.

This ceremony marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our Penang chapter. With FC Chong's leadership and a dedicated committee by his side, we look forward to strengthening our bonds within the tourism industry and creating more opportunities for networking and professional growth.

SKÅL International Penang Hosts Pickleball Networking Evening

We partnered with MAH and MACEOS to host a networking event on the 18th July 2025 that combined sports with business connections. The three organisations brought members together for an evening of pickleball and professional engagement.

Participants spent two hours playing pickleball while building business relationships. The event provided a relaxed setting for professionals to connect outside traditional meeting environments.

The collaborative evening showcased pickleball's growing appeal as a networking platform. Players of all skill levels joined the activities throughout the event.

Business professionals from various related industries attended the gathering. The format allowed natural conversations and relationship building through shared recreational activities.
