We are delighted to invite you to a very special occasion—our 40th Anniversary Fundraising Lunch! Join us as we celebrate four decades of preserving and championing Penang’s rich heritage, made possible by your steadfast support over so many years.

We are honoured to have Kathleen Rodrigues, Penang’s acclaimed Living Heritage Treasure and celebrated vocalist, serenading us with her timeless music—a performance that promises to make our 40th Anniversary truly unforgettable. Adding to the festivities, legendary lawyer-poet Cecil Rajendra will make a special appearance, reciting select verses from his renowned poetry.

We warmly welcome your presence at this celebratory gathering and would deeply appreciate any contributions, whether in kind or in cash, to help us with our mission to safeguard Penang's heritage.

26 October, Sunday was an insightful afternoon learning about the Syrian Christian community of Penang from Mr. Rexy Prakash at the Penang Heritage Trust office.

Penang Heritage Trust Visit to SRJK (C) Chung Shan

The Penang Heritage Trust had the honour of visiting SRJK (C) Chung Shan, where we were warmly welcomed by the Chairman of the School Board of Directors, Mr. Tan Lai Theng, (准拿督陈来庭先生), Headmistress Pn Thor Bee Ling and Deputy Headmaster Mr. Michael Chen. Mr. Tan graciously introduced the rich history of the school to us.

The school sits on 11 acres of land generously donated by Mr. Aw Boon Haw and Mr. Yeap Chor Ee, two prominent philanthropists whose contributions have greatly supported education in Penang.

Currently, the school has over 200 students, and it will soon be relocating to a new site to continue its educational mission and community legacy.
