🩷 Dana Classroom × Theresa Boarding Home for Ethnic Minority Children 🩷

We are excited to announce a meaningful new collaboration between Dana Charity Group and the Theresa Ethnic Minority Education Program in Vietnam, led by Sister Rose—one of our long-time volunteers and a trusted partner who has worked alongside us for many years.

Together, we will establish and support a boarding home for underprivileged ethnic minority children from remote mountain villages, providing them with a safe place to live while they pursue their education.

Many of these children come from families living hours away from the nearest school. Without a boarding facility, attending school simply would not be possible. Their parents entrust them to the care of the convent, where the sisters and volunteers provide not only accommodation, but also the love, guidance, and stability every child deserves.

The boarding home currently cares for more than 230 ethnic minority children, ranging from Grade 6 to high school. Because their families cannot afford the costs of education, no fees are charged. Every child receives accommodation, nutritious meals, pastoral care, and a nurturing environment in which they can learn and grow.

At the beginning of each school year, the children are provided with school uniforms, clothing, textbooks, and essential learning materials, ensuring they can attend school with dignity and confidence. During the school term, they attend local schools during the day and return to the boarding home, where they continue their studies under the care of the sisters.

Beyond meeting their daily needs, the program also equips the children with practical life skills. They spend approximately one hour each day learning to grow vegetables and other basic agricultural skills. The produce helps feed the boarding community, while any surplus is sold to support the children’s living expenses. Through this, they learn responsibility, teamwork, self-reliance, and the value of hard work.

This partnership reflects Dana Charity Group’s belief that education is about more than classrooms—it is about creating a safe and supportive environment where children can learn, develop life skills, and build hope for a brighter future.

To further support their education, we also plan to engage private tutors to provide additional academic assistance. Many of these children speak their own ethnic language as their first language rather than Vietnamese, making it more difficult to understand classroom lessons and access educational opportunities. Supplementary tutoring will help bridge this language gap, strengthen their academic foundations, and give them the confidence and skills to thrive at school.

A minimum of AUD $1,000 per month will be required to sustain this program and provide meaningful long-term outcomes for the children.

As Dana Charity Group has limited resources and many ongoing commitments, we cannot support this initiative alone. If this project speaks to your heart, we warmly invite you to consider making a personal commitment—no matter the amount—to help sustain this meaningful work.

Together, we can provide these children with more than just a place to stay. We can give them an education, a caring community, and the opportunity to build a brighter future. Every contribution, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to changing a child’s life.

Thank you for believing, together with us, that education is one of the most powerful ways to break the cycle of poverty.🫶 fans

People often ask me, “How do you make sure your charity will continue to exist every year?”

My answer is always the same:

I can’t be sure.

What I do know is that this is my calling.

I don’t have a grand strategy to guarantee success. I simply try to do this work with a sincere heart, stay true to why I started, and never lose sight of the purpose.

Of course, there have been seasons when this calling has required me to slow down my career and make sacrifices in my family life. Those choices have never been easy, but they have always been made with love and purpose .

The rest, I leave to something greater than myself.

And amazingly, year after year, the universe answers.

If our work is still needed, somehow the path opens. The right people appear. The resources come. The mission continues.

If we are still needed, we will exist.

❤️ 【Sponsor-A-Kid】

Meet Y Khát, a bright and determined Grade 2 student.

Y Khát comes from a family of seven. Her parents are facing extremely difficult circumstances and are unable to find stable employment. To help put food on the table, the children spend their days collecting leftover vegetables, gathering scraps of rubber latex, and picking up recyclable materials to earn a little income.

Despite these hardships, Y Khát continues to attend school with hope in her heart. Like every child, she dreams of a brighter future—one where education can open doors that poverty has kept closed.

We are delighted to share that Y Khát is now the 25th child under our Sponsor-A-Kid program—a meaningful milestone made possible by the kindness and generosity of people who believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn and thrive.

A heartfelt thank you to Angie for becoming Y Khát’s personal sponsor. ❤️ Your generosity is more than financial support—it is hope, encouragement, and the reassurance that someone believes in her future.

Together, we are changing lives, one child at a time.

【Sponsor-A-Kid】

Tuấn is a Grade 4 student and one of six children in his family. His parents are very poor and struggle to find stable work to support the household.

His mother suffers from mental illness, making it difficult for her to care for the children. As a result, Tuấn and his siblings are currently living with their grandmother, who has taken on the responsibility of raising them despite her own hardships.

Sadly, their grandmother suffers from a severe leg condition and is unable to walk. Even with her physical limitations, she continues to do her best to care for the children and keep the family together.

Despite the many challenges surrounding him, Tuấn continues to attend school and hopes for a better future through education.

We are deeply impressed by Tuấn’s determination and resilience despite the many hardships he faces at such a young age. His strength and commitment to continuing his education remind us why this mission matters so much.

Tuấn is now the 24th child under our Sponsor-A-Kid program. ❤️

A heartfelt thank you to Faith for becoming his personal sponsor and for giving him hope, encouragement, and the opportunity for a brighter future through education.

As some of you may recalled, we previously agreed to contribute toward building a new house for A Kun’s family. We are very happy to share that the house has now been completed.

A Kun’s mother expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all of us for the support and generosity. Your kindness has helped provide the family with not just a shelter, but also a safer and more stable place to call home.

Thank you once again to everyone who contributed and made this possible.
