Pertubuhan Pembela Kucing Pulau Pinang Cats n Dogs lives transformed. Animals, humans, environment in harmony. Not a shelter. Own rescues focus. Education & Public Awareness

Pertubuhan Pembela Kucing Pulau Pinang (PPKPP) is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organisation, established and received official status from the national Registry of Societies in July 2022, and is dedicated to humanely reducing the outside cat population through Trap-Neuter-Return Management. We are determined to make cat life in the state protected from natural and man-made harm & to tackle hygiene,

health, and environmental issues in the state that are caused by stray cats. Advocacy efforts promote community awareness in reducing cat abandoning behaviour among humans. What we do:
TNRM begins with the trapping of community strays using humane trapping methods. The captured strays are taken to a veterinary clinic/hospital where they are sterilised. After the cat has recovered from surgery, it is subsequently released to the site of which it was captured. The strays are then managed back in their original habitat. A caregiver/community feeder then provides food and monitors the colony over time. With TNRM, the cats’ reproductive capacities are eliminated, leading to a gradual decline in their numbers. Sterilised cats also benefit in terms of health, with much lower risks of contracting certain diseases and longer lifespan. Nuisance behaviours such as aggression or territorial marking are also substantially reduced. Donations can be made to:

Today, we scheduled TNR for two female cats.

Meet Nini whom resides at wet market and Kimchi a street cat living nearby a Korean restaurant, hence she is named Kimchi.

Initially check, showing both fit for spaying. We wishes them well during and post recovery!

Phew! Finally, we can all rest well tonight. The "bottle dog" of Chai Leng Park is safe!

After prepping the nets and waiting patiently for 30 minutes, sharp-sharp 12 midnight, two residents and our PPKPP member successfully caught him. The container is finally off—he can breathe and see properly now!

PPKPP decided to assist in neutering the dog.
Thanks to netizen, and there came Susan trying to assist; David and Steve (advice/info).

Help Us Name Him! Which one do you like?
1. Twelve (For the midnight rescue)
2. Shadow (For hiding in the dark bushes)
3. Midnight (The hour his life changed)
4. Phew (The feeling we all had!)

In 2020, MBPJ received about 900 complaints from the public related to stray dogs.

In 2024, this figure dropped to 702 and last year, it decreased to 472.

At PPKPP, we belief this works also for domestic cats.

THE number of complaints to Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) over stray dogs has dropped by almost half over the past five years.

Four Little Lives, Still Waiting

These four kittens were found without their mother, who is still missing. For now, they are safe in the care of a kind rescuer... but they are very young and still bottle-fed, relying completely on human care to survive.

They didn’t choose this start in life. Yet despite everything, they are holding on, quietly, gently, waiting for someone to give them a chance.

We’re hoping to find loving adopters who can give them what they need most: warmth, patience, and a home where they will never have to be alone again.

If you’ve ever thought about adopting, maybe this is your moment.

Please reach out if you can help, or share this post so these little ones have a better chance at finding their forever homes.

Good news today—with help from the neighborhood, we managed to TNR Oreo and Small Black, two adult pups. A huge thank you to a local Uncle who has stepped up to look after them, which is a massive help for everyone involved.

Having a local in the effort completely changed the game for these pups! We need more of them!

We focus purely on our own targeted cases. For those who want to support our TNR and emergency work, we are always grateful for any help to the fund. 😉
