A fragile life, a long journey, and a daily need for care....
Some children do not begin life with comfort, protection, or ease.
They begin it simply trying to survive.
He is 16 this year.
Born premature, he came into this world already more fragile than most children.
From a very young age, life was already difficult for him.
He grew up in severe poverty.
When he was still a baby, his family could not always afford milk powder, and basic necessities were often out of reach.
He had no proper bed, only a thin mat on the floor to sleep on.
He also cannot see well, and he experiences frequent muscle spasms, which makes daily life much harder and means he needs close care and attention.
His mother was raising the family alone.
As a single mother, she was doing all she could while also caring for his siblings.
But with no transport, very limited income, and no way to provide the level of care he needed, she eventually had to ask for help.
When our Dean visited the home and saw the boy’s condition for himself, he knew the child needed proper care and brought him into our home.
When he first came to us, he was already in a very frail and undernourished condition due to the long period of hardship he had gone through before arriving here.
Because of his physical condition, limited vision, and frequent muscle spasms, he continues to need ongoing support, patience, and daily care.
Today, he has a safer place to stay.
He has regular meals, daily supervision, and people around him who care for him with patience and love.
While this post is about him, he is not alone.
Alongside him, our home is also caring for 17 other children who rely on us each day for meals, daily care, and a safe place to stay.
The cost of food, personal care items, daily essentials, and long-term support is something the home continues to shoulder every single day.
He has already been through so much for someone so young.
What we hope for now is simple that his future can be a little gentler, a little safer, and filled with more care than hardship.
If his story touches your heart, we humbly invite you to support our home.
Your kindness helps us continue caring for him and the 17 others who call this place home. ❤️❤️
