Local and Regional Competition
College and university students are called to action to compete in one of five global regional rounds of competition. Teams of 3-4 students are charged with developing ideas for social enterprises that can conquer modern day’s most solvable global challenges. A local round may also be happening on your campus.
2. Hult Accelerator
During the months of July and Augus
t, the Hult Prize’s six regional finalist teams will attend the Hult Prize Accelerator, a six-week program of intensive entrepreneurial seminars hosted by Hult International Business School. This fast-paced and fun immersion program fosters the rapid implementation and uptake of social business concepts with a proven methodology, professional mentorship, and 24-hour access to business facilities and resources. Participating teams will hone their business concept into a more robust and bankable enterprise. They will also develop the proposal they will ultimately present at the Global Final held at the Clinton Global Initiative Annual Meeting in New York. Each team will leave the program with a fully formed and investor-ready corporation, as well as a concise Monday-morning action plan.
3. Global Finals
Following the conclusion of your time working in the Hult Accelerator in July and August, each of the six winning teams will attend CGI's annual meeting in September. Within the meeting agenda, President Clinton will host the Hult Prize Global Finals. Here, teams will pitch their ideas in-front of a world-class audience, where President Clinton, along with CGI Meeting attendees will select and award the winning team with a USD1 million prize.
4. Implementation
The Hult Prize Global Champion will immediately work to launch their new social enterprise. Continued support, mentorship and advisory will be provided by the Hult Prize Accelerator and it's partners, as the winning student team moves forward with the implementation of their idea via their start-up. Each of the six teams presenting at the Global Finals will receive a one year membership into the Clinton Global Initiative. CGI convenes a community of global leaders to forge solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges. more than 150 heads of state, 20 Nobel Prize laureates, and hundreds of leading CEOs, heads of foundations and NGOs, major philanthropists, and members of the media. This network has embraced the Hult Prize as part of the CGI agenda, and will provide all of of our six global finalists an opportunity to continue to work towards their dream of launching their social enterprise, through helping to raise capital, identification of strategic partnerships and media support.
