OBESITY & FARMING SYSTEM
Regenerative agriculture and obesity may appear unrelated at first glance, yet they are deeply interconnected through the modern food system. Industrial agricultural practices often prioritise quantity, shelf life, and mass production, contributing to the widespread availability of ultra-processed, calorie-dense but nutrient-poor foods.
This has gradually shaped unhealthy dietary patterns and rising obesity rates worldwide. In contrast, regenerative agriculture emphasises soil health, biodiversity, ecological balance, and nutrient-dense food production. Healthier soils may contribute to healthier crops and livestock, ultimately supporting better human nutrition and metabolic health.
Therefore, regenerative agriculture should not merely be viewed as an environmental approach, but also as a long-term public health strategy capable of strengthening food quality, improving dietary resilience, and addressing obesity at its roots.
