Whether you are writing an article, recording a podcast, capturing a powerful photo, building a photo story, or producing a campaign/reportage video; this is your chance to tell an environmental story that matters!

The submission links have also been updated on our official website and in the registration form, so you can now access everything in one place.

Before submitting, make sure to read the full guidelines carefully and check out past winners’ submissions for inspiration. A stronger understanding of the requirements can help you prepare a stronger entry.

The recommended international theme for the YRE International Competition 2026/2027 is:

𝗦𝗠𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗟𝗗𝗦, 𝗕𝗜𝗚 𝗙𝗨𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘𝗦: 𝗥𝗘𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗙𝗥𝗢𝗠 𝗔 𝗣𝗢𝗟𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗢𝗥-𝗣𝗢𝗪𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗗 𝟮𝟬𝟯𝟬

This theme invites young reporters to look closer at the small but powerful parts of nature around us. From pollinators like bees, butterflies, moths, beetles and birds; to tiny organisms such as lichens, algae, fungi and freshwater macroinvertebrates.

These small living things can tell big environmental stories. They can help us understand air quality, water health, biodiversity, food systems, ecosystem restoration and how people can live more in balance with nature.

But remember, environmental reporting is not only about problems. You can also highlight positive cultural practices, community protection efforts, restoration success stories and everyday actions that help nature thrive.

This theme is a recommended guiding focus from FEE Denmark for the YRE International Competition 2026/2027. Participants are still welcome to report on other environmental issues that matter deeply to their own communities.

We know many of you are already preparing your media production and we love the energy!

Here are some 𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 we have received about the NYRE Competition 2026; including submission forms, themes, PAJSK marks, and where to find the guidelines for each category.

Kindly note that the submission forms will be shared once FEE confirms the special theme for the YRE International Competition 2026/2027.

In the meantime, participants are 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗹𝘆 𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗱 to go through the category guidelines on our website before preparing their submissions. Reading the guidelines carefully can help you better understand the format, requirements, and judging expectations for each category.

✨ IMPORTANT REMINDER: PAJSK marks are applicable for 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝟳𝟬% 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘃𝗲. Winners will receive both participation and achievement certificates.
