𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲

As a new year begins, I extend my sincere greetings to the members of SDNU Kemena Branch as we continue to move forward in unity.

The year 2026 is a historic and meaningful milestone as 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗸 𝗗𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗸 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝟳𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆. This remarkable journey reflects decades of perseverance, unity, and collective effort in upholding the aspirations of the Dayak community. It is a legacy we are proud of and one we are responsible for future generations.

Looking ahead, my hope for SDNU Kemena is clear: 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽, 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀. A strong union is built not only on numbers but on trust, solidarity, and the willingness to work together beyond individual differences.

As Chairman, I believe the year ahead presents valuable opportunities for us to enhance collaboration, nurture mutual respect, and position SDNU Kemena as a united and respected voice within the community. By strengthening our internal bonds and external networks, we can create a more meaningful impact and ensure SDNU remains relevant, resilient, and respected.

May 2026 be a year that draws SDNU Kemena closer together while strengthening our bonds across the wider SDNU family all over Sarawak.

As we welcome the New Year, I extend my sincere greetings and appreciation to all members of SDNU Kemena for your continued support, commitment, and trust.

The year 2026 holds special significance as we commemorate 𝗦𝗗𝗡𝗨’𝘀 𝟳𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 — a proud milestone that reflects seven decades of unity, advocacy, and service to the Dayak community. This historic year calls upon us to further strengthen our organisation by expanding our membership base, enhancing member support, and securing stronger funding to enable more meaningful, inclusive, and impactful activities at branch level.

Moving forward, SDNU Kemena remains committed to building a stronger, more responsive union that listens, supports, and delivers value to its members. As we come to the close of the year, the Sarawak Dayak National Union (SDNU) Kemena Branch would like to extend our warmest Christmas greetings and best wishes for a happy, peaceful, and prosperous New Year 2026 to you and your loved ones.

The year has been marked by continued engagement, unity, and collective effort in advancing the interests and welfare of our members and the wider Dayak community. We sincerely appreciate your commitment, support, and active participation, which remain the foundation of SDNU’s strength and purpose.

SDNU KEMENA NGULU PENGAWA MAKAI LEMAI SERIMBAI ENGGAU AUM TIGA TAUN SEKALI (TGA) KE-37 SDNU

SDNU Pampang Kemena berasai temegah laban ulih datai enggau ngulu Pengawa Begempuru Makai Lemai nyerimbai Aum Tiga Taun Sekali (TGA) Ke-37 Sarawak Dayak National Union (SDNU), ti diatur kena 14 November 2025 ba Imperial Hotel, Kuching.

Tuai Pengabang ti bejadi pengerami lemai nya iya nya YAB Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, Premier menua Sarawak.

Dalam jaku pengelalu iya, President SDNU, YB Tan Sri Dato Sri William Mawan Ikom, bisi ngeratan ubah pemansang SDNU ti bepun ari serakup ke ngemeratka pengawa ti bekaul enggau sosial sereta daya idup Dayak ngagai organisasi ti cheregas ngaul perintah sereta bekempit enggau komuniti ngena bungkur ke besai agi. Ubah tauka transformasyen tu ku iya senipak enggau tuju perening menua Sarawak ti ngemeranka pengawa pemansang enggau pemaik mensia ari mayuh sukut.

Iya ngansak semua kaban SDNU nyadi ejen pengubah sereta ngerapitka kaul kerejasama dikena nyungkakka polisi enggau program perintah awakka nyadi nyata lalu mai empas ti menyana ngagai semua anak Sarawak.

Sama bisi datai ngulu Pengawa Begempuru Makai Lemai tu iya nya Sapit President SDNU ke lalu nyadi Chairman Pengatur Pengawa, YB Ir. Cristopher Gira Sambang; Vice-President Kanan SDNU, Lieutenant General (R) Datuk Stephan Mundaw; Tuai Sarakup Indu Dayak Sarawak (SIDS), Dato Alice Jawan; begulai enggau bala pemesai sereta bala pengabang ti bukai, ngujungka pengawa ti diatur lemai nya besai bendar reti ba bala ke bisi datai.

SDNU KEMENA AT THE SDNU 37TH TRIENNIAL GENERAL ASSEMBLY (TGA) WELCOMING DINNER

The SDNU Kemena Branch proudly attended the Sarawak Dayak National Union (SDNU) 37th Triennial General Assembly (TGA) Welcoming Dinner, held on 14 November 2025 at the Imperial Hotel, Kuching.

The evening was graced by the presence of The Right Honourable Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, Premier of Sarawak, who officiated the event.

In his address, SDNU President, The Honourable Tan Sri Dato Sri William Mawan Ikom, highlighted the Union’s evolution from an organisation rooted in social and cultural initiatives to a dynamic body actively engaging with the government and wider community. This transformation, he said, aligns with Sarawak’s vision for progress and collective wellbeing.

He further encouraged all SDNU members to serve as agents of change, strengthening collaborative networks that can help translate government policies and programmes into meaningful impact for all Sarawakians.

Also in attendance were SDNU Deputy President and Organising Chairman, Ir Cristopher Gira Sambang; SDNU Senior Vice-President, Lieutenant General (R) Datuk Stephan Mundaw; Chairperson of Sarakup Indu Dayak Sarawak (SIDS), Dato Alice Jawan; along with other distinguished guests who added to the significance of the evening.

Walking Through History & Heritage: A Meaningful Visit to Tun Jugah Foundation

📍 The Tun Jugah Foundation, Kuching

The SDNU Kemena Branch Executive Committee had the privilege of visiting the Tun Jugah Foundation (TJF) on 14 November 2025 for a short yet deeply meaningful educational tour.

Our two-hour exploration brought us through the Museum, Galleries, and Library — including the Datin Amar Margaret Linggi Memorial Gallery, Gallery 1: Display Gallery, Gallery 2: Weaving Gallery, Gallery 3: Museum, Gallery 4: Tun Jugah Memorial, and Gallery 5: Beads Gallery. Each space offered a unique glimpse into the richness of Iban heritage, craftsmanship, and history.

Stepping into the museum felt like walking through time — a journey that carried us back to the era of great leaders, especially Yang Amat Berbahagia Tun Datuk Patinggi Temenggong Jugah anak Barieng, whose legacy continues to inspire generations of Iban people. The library, home to thousands of invaluable references from Ensera Iban to historical texts, further enriched our understanding of cultural identity and continuity.

Our heartfelt appreciation goes to Dr. Robert Menua Saleh, Mdm. Pauline Edna Manjah, Mdm. Janet Rata Noel, Mdm. Melia Linggi, Mdm. Shirley Ikok, Mdm. Dorin Linang, Mr. James Nabau, and the dedicated staff of TJF for their warm hospitality, generous knowledge sharing, and gracious hosting. We truly look forward to returning for another educational visit in the near future.

For those wishing to experience this heritage site, the Tun Jugah Foundation is open Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, welcoming visitors who seek to learn, explore, and appreciate the cultural legacy preserved within its walls.
