🎓 Scholarships for Palestinian Students in Malaysia 🇵🇸🇲🇾

The Palestinian Progressive Association – Malaysia (PPAM), in partnership with Universiti Selangor (UNISEL), is pleased to announce the opening of applications for scholarships dedicated to Palestinian students under the:

UNISEL–Gaza Reconstruction Scholarship (UGRS)

This scholarship focuses on preparing future professionals for the reconstruction of Gaza, while strengthening UNISEL’s humanitarian role via Malaysia–Palestine academic cooperation. Full tuition fee waiver will be given to the successful candidate according to the program of studies.

👤 Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
✅ Be of Palestinian nationality
✅ Priority is given to students from Gaza
✅ Age requirements:

17–25 years (Bachelor’s)
Under 35 years (Postgraduate)
✅ Have a good academic record
✅ Meet the admission requirements of the selected program

📢 Announcement | Palestinian Student Tuition Support Project

The Palestinian Progressive Association – Malaysia (PPA-M) is launching the Palestinian Student Tuition Support Project to assist Palestinian students in Malaysian universities who are facing outstanding tuition fees.

In light of the ongoing challenges affecting Palestinian families—especially those impacted by the war in Gaza—this initiative aims to help students continue their education without disruption.

Palestinian students currently enrolled in public or private universities in Malaysia with unpaid tuition fees.

The Palestinian Progress Association - Malaysia (PPA-M), in partnership with the Palestine Students Association (PSA), has successfully completed the Tenth phase of the Palestinian Student Joint Sponsorship Scheme (PSJSS). This initiative, which supports Palestinian students enrolled in Malaysian universities, disbursed 83,300 Malaysian Ringgit in the 10th phase.

Launched in April 2024, the scheme aims to provide critical assistance to Palestinian students, especially those from Gaza. Its primary goal is to ensure continued support for a diverse group of students across Malaysia, addressing their various needs and challenges.

PPA-M takes this opportunity, at the close of 2025, to extend its heartfelt gratitude to our generous partners, sponsors, and donors. Your unwavering commitment and continued support have been instrumental in enabling us to empower Palestinian students during this pivotal stage of their academic journeys.

Palestinian Progressive Association – Malaysia Attends the 6th Convocation Ceremony of Albukhary International University

Alor Setar, Kedah – The Palestinian Progressive Association – Malaysia (PPAM) attended the 6th Convocation Ceremony of Albukhary International University (AIU) in Alor Setar, Kedah, represented by Emeritus Professor Dr. Mohd Nazari bin Ismail, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of PPAM.

On the first day of the visit, PPAM attended the Public Session delivered by the Pro-Chancellor of Albukhary International University, Mr. Sonny Bill Williams, which focused on the theme “Giving Back and Building a Better World.” The session underscored the importance of social responsibility, humanitarian engagement, and education in shaping a more just and compassionate world.

Emeritus Prof. Dr. Mohd Nazari bin Ismail also held a meeting with Professor Dato’ Ir. Dr. Mohd Saleh bin Jaafar, Vice Chancellor and President of Albukhary International University. The discussion focused on the welfare, academic needs, and performance of Palestinian students, as well as expressing PPAM’s sincere appreciation for AIU’s continuous role in supporting and empowering Palestinian students. Both parties further explored potential future opportunities that could be offered to enhance educational support for Palestinian students at the university.

As part of the same visit, Emeritus Prof. Dr. Mohd Nazari bin Ismail held a meeting with Palestinian students enrolled at Albukhary International University to listen to their needs, concerns, and aspirations, and to ensure that they are doing well academically and personally. The session aimed to reaffirm PPAM’s commitment to the students’ welfare and to ensure that they have their essential needs adequately met, enabling them to focus fully on their studies and academic progress.

On the second day, PPAM attended the 6th Convocation Ceremony of Albukhary International University, celebrating the academic achievements of the graduates and reaffirming the strong collaboration between PPAM and AIU in promoting education, inclusivity, and humanitarian values.

PPAM extends its heartfelt appreciation to Albukhary International University for its steadfast support and remains committed to strengthening partnerships that advance the educational aspirations of Palestinian students in Malaysia.

Palestinian Progressive Association – Malaysia Attends YADIM Dakwah Appreciation Ceremony & Closing of the 2025 National Dakwah Program.

Putrajaya – The Palestinian Progressive Association – Malaysia (PPAM) participated in the YADIM Dakwah Appreciation Ceremony and the Closing Officiating of the 2025 National Dakwah Program, represented by Emeritus Professor Dr. Mohd Nazari bin Ismail, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of PPAM.

The ceremony was organised by Yayasan Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia (YADIM) to recognise and appreciate the contributions of preachers, strategic partners, and organisations that have played a significant role in strengthening dakwah efforts and community empowerment initiatives at the national level.

The event was officiated by YB Senator Dato’ Setia Dr. Haji Mohd Na’im bin Mokhtar, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), whose presence highlighted the government’s strong commitment to supporting dakwah activities and humanitarian partnerships.

PPAM was honoured to be recognised as a strategic partner of YADIM in the implementation of a vital educational initiative, namely the Tuition Fees Coverage Project for Palestinian Students enrolled in Malaysian universities. Through this collaboration, a total amount of RM457,366 was successfully channelled to support Palestinian students, enabling them to continue their higher education despite the severe challenges faced by their families and communities.

Emeritus Prof. Dr. Mohd Nazari Ismail expressed PPAM’s appreciation to YADIM for their support of Palestinian students, affirming that such partnerships reflect the spirit of solidarity, compassion, and shared responsibility towards the Palestinian cause through education and empowerment.

PPAM remains committed to working closely with national institutions, strategic partners, and the wider Malaysian community to enhance educational support, welfare, and long-term development opportunities for Palestinian students in Malaysia.

The Palestinian Progress Association - Malaysia (PPA-M), in partnership with the Palestine Students Association (PSA), has successfully completed the Ninth phase of the Palestinian Student Joint Sponsorship Scheme (PSJSS). This initiative, which supports Palestinian students enrolled in Malaysian universities, disbursed 62,650 Malaysian Ringgit in the 9th phase.

The Palestinian Progress Association – Malaysia (PPA-M), in partnership with Yayasan Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia (YADIM) and in cooperation with the Palestine Students Association (PSA), is pleased to announce the completion of the Outstanding Tuition Fee Coverage Project for Palestinian students in Malaysian universities.

The project, which was launched in November 2024, received hundreds of applications from students facing financial hardship. In close collaboration with our partners, PPA-M verified that the submitted applications met the eligibility criteria, while maintaining direct communication with students and universities to ensure credibility and transparency throughout the process.

Following the successful implementation of the earlier phases, PPA-M has now completed the Fourth and final Phase of the project, which covers tuition fees amounting to RM34,784.82. With this, the overall total assistance provided through the project reaches RM457,366.00, benefitting a large number of Palestinian students across Malaysia.

This initiative aimed to ease the financial burden on Palestinian students during these extremely challenging times, enabling them to pursue their academic goals with focus and determination.

PPA-M takes this opportunity to extend its sincere gratitude and appreciation to our esteemed partners, whose unwavering commitment and generosity continue to make a real difference in the academic journey and future of Palestinian students.
