Recently, the Rotary Eye Care Center received an application for cataract surgery assistance. To better understand the applicant’s actual condition, the Eye Care team conducted a home visit to the applicant on 12 May.

During the visit, the team assessed his living conditions and the challenges caused by his eye condition, and verified the relevant information. After careful review, the application was approved to support him in receiving appropriate cataract treatment and the opportunity to restore his vision.

The Rotary Eye Care Center remains committed to serving the community with compassion and continues to support those in need in regaining a clearer vision of life.

During our meeting on 28 April, the Rotary Club of Batu Pahat proudly conducted the presentation ceremony for several members receiving the Paul Harris Fellow (PHF) recognition. This was not only a personal achievement for the recipients, but also a historic milestone for our club.

This year, our club successfully achieved the remarkable distinction of becoming an “A 100% Paul Harris Fellow (PHF) Club”, a recognition awarded to clubs where every member is a Paul Harris Fellow. This accomplishment was made possible through a collaborative initiative between District Governor Dr. Shahul Hameed and the Rotary Club of Batu Pahat.

Through our club’s Foundation annual contribution allocation to The Rotary Foundation, combined with Foundation recognition points accumulated by Rotary clubs in Singapore and personally contributed by Dr. Shahul Hameed , all members of our club were able to receive sufficient points to qualify for the Paul Harris Fellow recognition.

The Paul Harris Fellow recognition is one of Rotary International’s highest acknowledgements for individuals who contribute towards The Rotary Foundation and support Rotary’s humanitarian mission. It reflects a commitment to the Rotary ideal of “Service Above Self.”

In recognition of this outstanding achievement, Rotary International will officially honour the Rotary Club of Batu Pahat with the title of an “A 100% Paul Harris Fellow (PHF) Club.” This recognition belongs to every member of our club and stands as a testament to our collective dedication to service, fellowship, and community impact over the years.

On 19 April, the Rotary Satellite Club of Insight was invited to participate in a health event organized by the Batu Pahat Chinese Chamber of Commerce. A health talk was held in the morning, and the club was given the opportunity to conduct basic health and vision screening activities for the public at the venue.

During the event, members of the Rotary Satellite Club of Insight actively engaged with the community, providing meaningful services and promoting greater awareness of personal health and well-being. Their efforts reflected the true spirit of Rotary—serving the community with care and dedication.

This occasion was especially significant as it marked the first community service project carried out by the Rotary Satellite Club of Insight since its establishment. It represents not only a beginning, but also a meaningful step forward in their journey of service.

We are confident that the Rotary Satellite Club of Insight will continue to grow, contribute, and make a positive impact through many more community initiatives in the future.
