The International School of Penang (Uplands) πβ¨ recently held our Year 7 Community Day β a meaningful opportunity for students to come together and explore ways to support the communities around them.
This year, students took action to support local wildlife by raising awareness and building bird boxes, which will soon be placed around the school π¦π±
Students also identified concerns surrounding litter and environmental care. They wrote letters to the Chief Minister of Penang and took part in a beach clean-up, collecting an impressive 10.2kg of litter ποΈβ»οΈ
Others focused on supporting our own school community by reaching out to Primary students and organising fun and engaging activities for the younger learners π
The afternoon then turned to the Year 7 community itself, where our Year 7 student leaders did an outstanding job organising a carousel of student-led games filled with teamwork, energy, and enthusiasm π
Community Day was truly a great success! A huge thank you to the many teachers who generously gave their time to supervise activities, and to the Year 7 Pastoral Team for guiding students throughout the process.
Well done Year 7 for demonstrating such fantastic community engagement, compassion, and initiative πβ¨
