Recently, it is becoming apparent that we are desperately looking for other avenues to reach out to the public who has been the very backbone of our establishment. Our idea is to slot in pictures and relay stories or events or information of our Home. The public generally sees us with sympathy. But the truth is our Home is not merely that of sorrow. The aim of this pamphlet is to invite the public
to view the actual. I can vouch from my personal experience living with them for almost a year, our Home is filled with cheers and laughter and above all, love. Despite being born with mental deficiency and physically handicapped, the delightful essence of life is ever evident. I personally find it captivating to witness the emotion that is prevalent in our little Home. Their smile and laughter is genuine. This is the factor that keeps our staff on the move to help the children. I believe it would be a great contribution if I could share the experience I have with everyone.

Most of our inmates come from low-income families. I wouldn’t go as far as to think other wise because it’s too cruel. But there are such cases happening around. We’d can only pray they’d know to find their way back as they detach themselves from the evil material world. We mustn’t forget that every breathing being has an eternal soul. It is us who can connect with it and not cripple it. I know a lady who sent her daughter to our Centre’s care for a couple of days. She stayed with us until her fractured arm healed. Soon after which, she took back her daughter home. I admire her determination in caring for her daughter of 20 years old. She’s bedridden and has to be spoon-fed. What would your reply be if she tells you she has never ever seen her daughter’s smile? Our hearts go out to the parents. It is difficult to imagine the pain they have gone through. We feel very fortunate it didn’t happen to us. Our purpose is simple. Lets join hand in hand and offer these special children a better living and vanish the silence that makes them lonely.
