The call by Prof. Wan Mohd Nor Wan Daud to return ISTAC to the intellectual and institutional vision of Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas deserves serious support.

ISTAC was not merely another academic centre. It was conceived as a civilizational project — a madrasah of higher learning dedicated to the Islamization of knowledge, intellectual rigor, and the cultivation of adab.

Institutions built on profound philosophical foundations cannot simply be absorbed into bureaucratic structures without losing their soul. Restoring ISTAC to the spirit and autonomy envisioned by al-Attas is not nostalgia; it is an act of intellectual justice.

Malaysia once hosted one of the most important centres of Islamic thought in the modern world. We should have the courage to restore it.

Semalam dijemput sebagai panel pakar dalam FGD bagi merangka Pelan Pembangunan Strategi Pembanterasan Rasuah Nasional (NACS) oleh SPRM dan USIM.

Saya berkesempatan beri ulasan sedikit extensive berdasarkan amatan sejak beberapa tahun - berkisar merit pelantikan ALPA sesebuah entiti NPO, mekanisme saringan keutuhan yang lebih jitu, keperluan mewujudkan segera & mustahak Charity Commission Malaysia sebagai badan regulator tunggal di peringkat persekutuan dengan akta sendiri, cadangan mewujud peruntukan undang-undang yang mengawal, isu pendanaan politik serta isu governans selain reporting procedures yang lebih baik tanpa menambah red tape. Dan ya, di atas sekali adalah isu besar seperti AMLA serta pendanaan keganasan.
