This program's focus is to raise an awareness and educate the local community about the `Hidden Hunger` impact and the lack of balanced nutrition in daily food. Our Vision
'HEALTHY FOOD FOR A BRIGHTER FUTURE'
Our Mission
i) To raise awareness in the community about the importance of nutrition and its effects on malnutrition among our children. iii) To give awareness to the adopted school students
about the importance of healthy eating. Our Objective
Malnutrition is a serious health problem among the developing countries of the world. This problem is commonly experienced by a group of children, especially among primary school students. It can cause health problems such as growth disorders, non-communicable health diseases, low cognitive ability, intellectual problems, and poor quality of life that may be prolonged until they became adults. A study on the poverty and deprivation of urban children in low-cost flats in Kuala Lumpur conducted by UNICEF shows that 1 out of 10 children consume less than three times a day of a complete meal, and about 97 the percentage of households living in low-cost flats are not able to provide healthy foods for their children. Mostly, due to the high price of healthy ingredients in the markets. Generally, this program aims to educate and raise awareness of the importance of maintaining a pyramid-guided diet food in daily life among B40 and M40 parents. This year’s program focus is to raise awareness and educate the local community about the `Hidden Hunger` impact and the lack of balanced nutrition in daily food. Even though the program is targeted to students at SK Sungai Manggis (adopted school), virtual programs to provide awareness at the general level will be held from time to time. This initiative needs strong support from both parents and the local community for the benefit of our future generation. Because a balanced diet will contribute to the successful development of physical and mental growth of our future generation.
