Headline: Strengthening Enforcement Against Tourist Visa Abuse & Unregulated E-Commerce 🇲🇾
​The Malaysian Cabinet is taking a decisive stand on protecting local businesses and ensuring regulatory compliance. Recent discussions have highlighted concerns regarding the abuse of tourist visas by nationals from the People's Republic of China to offer local services (such as photography and home confinement care/confinement nanny services).
​Additionally, the rise of unregulated products sold via e-commerce platforms like TikTok, Little Red Book (Xiao Hong Shu), Taobao, and Pinduoduo—which bypass critical regulatory standards set by MCMC and SIRIM—remains a core focus.
​To address this, Deputy Finance Minister YB Liew Chin Tong chaired a crucial inter-agency and entrepreneur representative meeting at the Ministry of Finance to beef up enforcement operations alongside the Immigration Department and the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN).

🤝 Protecting Local Stakeholders: MGA Engages with MBAM on Market Disruption
​During the recent MOU signing ceremony between MBAM and CECCM, the Malaysia Glass Association (MGA) met with MBAM leadership to address critical industry challenges.
​We highlighted growing concerns regarding certain foreign entities and nationals flouting Malaysian laws, dumping prices, and causing severe market disruptions. MGA will be officially lodging a formal complaint to safeguard our local stakeholders, ensure fair competition, and uphold strict compliance with national regulations.

​🤝 捍卫本土利益：马来西亚玻璃公会就市场失衡问题向大马建筑商公会（MBAM）提出交涉
​在日前见证 MBAM 与马中总商会建筑业工作委员会（CECCM）签署合作备忘录期间，马来西亚玻璃公会（MGA）代表与 MBAM 高层进行了会面与交流。
​我方在会面中严正指出，部分外国企业及外籍人士涉嫌违反马来西亚法律、恶意倾销价格，已严重破坏本地市场秩序并冲击行业利益相关者。MGA 将对此正式提交正式投诉，以捍卫公平竞争环境，全力保障本地同仁的合法权益。

Reflecting on an Inspiring Day of Industry Excellence! 🏗️✨
​On May 8, 2026, the Malaysia Glass Association (MGA) successfully hosted a factory visit and welcome dinner, bringing together industry leaders and professionals. We had the privilege of touring the facilities at VSP and Fortex, witnessing firsthand the cutting-edge technologies and innovations driving our sector forward.
​A huge thank you to our hosts for their warm hospitality and for sharing their technical expertise. These visits are vital in fostering collaboration and maintaining high standards within the Malaysian glass industry.
