Greater Action Center, located in Ampang Bandar Baru, is to bridge the gap between the refugees and locals and expats in KL and Selangor. Its purpose is two-fold:
1) We have skills and vocational training workshops there for the refugees above 16 years of age. They include Language classes, IT (Web design), Baking, Cooking and Tailoring.
2) We have set up 3 areas in the center where Locals and Expats can come and participate in the welfare of the refugee families
a) La Boutique - Buy handcrafted bags, tableware, home linen, personal accessories all created by our refugee tailors using recycled materials. You can even custom design your own. The tailors also help you copy your favourite dresses, tops, shirts, etc for the whole family. b) Le Bistro - Plan an Authentic Afghan Meal Experience or a French High Tea with your friends and family. All food prepared by our trained Afghan Refugee Women Chefs. We also have Afghan Cooking and French Baking classes every month for you to participate. c) La Galerie - The art work of young self-taught refugee artists is on display at the center. We also have Art Themed workshops you can participate in. And if you wish to commission a custom art piece then the refugee artists can meet you at the center for the initial discussion.
