11th Georgetown-South Chung Ling Scout Troop

Forty-five scouts from our school participated in the 15th Malaysian Scout Jamboree, held from August 29 to September 4, 2026, at Bandar Cassia, Batu Kawan, Penang.

Through this event, the scouts had the opportunity to meet and interact with fellow scouts from around the world, including delegations from South Korea, Indonesia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Australia, and Japan.

During the seven-day, six-night camp, the scouts not only completed rigorous skill assessments—such as campsite setup and wilderness first aid—under the scorching sun, but also explored the STEM arena to experience modern technologies like drone and robotics programming. Furthermore, on the morning of August 30, they ran alongside thousands of domestic and international peers in the National Day long-distance run and forged deep cross-border friendships during "International Night" through badge exchanges and talent showcases.

Last Wednesday’s meeting (29 July 2026) was all about sharpening our essential outdoor skills and building scout knowledge! ⚜️

During the session, our scouts learned how to tie the taut-line hitch—a crucial adjustable knot used for securing tent guy lines and managing tension under load 🪢. We also covered compass navigation to help everyone master direction-finding in the field
