🌊 Brown Algae – A New Major Threat 🌿
Muddy, toxic, and spreading fast – brown algae are turning paradise into pollution along coastlines like Tulum, Mexico. But we’re not standing by.

📢 Featured in Die Welt am Sonntag – MINT Magazine, our Co-Founder Pascal Gerdsmeier and the team at Circular Waves, in partnership with TUM (Technical University of Munich), are on a mission to turn this crisis into a climate solution.

🌊 Shocking Discovery in the Deepest Part of the Mediterranean Sea 💔

At 5,267 meters deep, scientists made a disturbing find at Calypso Deep—the deepest point in the Mediterranean. What they found wasn’t a natural wonder… it was garbage. 😢

Using the submersible Limiting Factor, researchers discovered 167 pieces of trash on the seafloor—mostly plastic, metal, glass, and paper.
💬 “Even bags of waste dumped from boats,” says Prof. Canals from the University of Barcelona.

This is now considered one of the worst deep-sea pollution sites ever recorded in the region.

👉 Even the most remote places on Earth are not safe from human impact.

We need urgent action—by governments, industries, and all of us—to stop pollution from reaching our oceans’ deepest corners.

📢 Raise awareness. Demand change. Protect our oceans.

🌊 Brown Algae: A Growing Crisis We Can’t Ignore 🌊

At 07°54.612’ N, 019°36.173 W, deep in the Atlantic south of Cape Verde, brown algae (Sargassum) is spreading faster than ever. It’s not just a coastal nuisance—it’s a global environmental crisis. This invasive species is choking marine life, destroying ecosystems, and wreaking havoc on coastal communities. 🌍

These images were just sent to us from this location, showing the extent of the brown algae spread. 📸 The impact is real, and the urgency to act is greater than ever.

Our oceans are the lifeblood of our planet, and they need your help. The spread of brown algae is fueled by pollution, climate change, and unsustainable practices. It’s time to wake up and act before the damage becomes irreversible. 🌱

At Circular Waves, we believe in solutions. We’re committed to turning this challenge into an opportunity for a cleaner, healthier ocean. 🌊🌿
