TBT to when this brave little chiquita was hit by a car as a tiny puppy in Mexico, fighting through fear and a life-changing injury before Surfers for Strays stepped in. 💔🩹

Fast forward to today, and this courageous, 5-year-old tri-pawd legend is catching total paradise vibes on the coast in San Diego: cruising in the car, exploring every beachy scent on her walks, and living the ultimate vida loca with a tail that never stops wagging. 🚗🏖️

She is serving up soulful eyes, super soft fur, and the ultimate adventure-buddy energy for older kids and adults who appreciate her resilient, joyful spirit. 🐕✨

🤪🐾 TONGUE OUT TUESDAY! 🏄‍♂️🌊

Camilo is still rolling toward his forever crew! 💛

Found paralyzed in the mud, this 4-year-old warrior never lost his wag or his Mucho Aloha spirit! 🤙🐶

Thanks to a loving family and the SFS crew, Camilo now cruises on custom wheels, receives stem cell therapy and beach physio, and is even starting to stand on his own wobbly legs! 💪🌺

When he’s not rolling, he’s scooting like a surfer paddling for the wave of his life! 🌊

Camilo is a champion cuddler who loves humans and mellow doggy amigos. He wears diapers and needs a patient crew to help with his special care routine, but his love knows no limits! ❤️

Tongue Out Tuesday! 😜

Sweet Uncle Jack is STILL in Mexico, waiting for his forever wave. 🏄‍♂️🐶💛

Jack is 3 yrs 4 months old. He was rescued from a coastal shack in Mexico by Surfers For Strays after a pretty rough start. Then came another heavy wipeout when his first adoption fell through when hip dysplasia was discovered. 💔

But Jack got the surgery he needed and today this sweet boy is happy, cruising through life with pure joy! He recently received pentosan injections to help manage his pain. And for that, muchas gracias to Kara for her generous donation!! ✨

Known as “Sweet Uncle Jack”, he’s been patiently waiting for his true forever crew to finally drop in. Jack is the ultimate cuddle bug who loves doggy pals, sniff walks, and being glued to his person’s side. He’s house-trained, crate-trained, knows his commands, and after everything he’s been through he still chooses joy every day. 🥹💕

After surviving life on the streets, giving birth to 8 puppies, and watching so many of them find their families, Sassy is still patiently waiting for her turn. 🐾

🐾 🌊 Listo/a para hacer olas por unos perritos rescatados en el paraíso? 🐾🌊

Surfers for Strays está buscando a una persona increíble para unirse a nosotros en Troncones, México (a solo un corto trayecto en coche de Saladita) y ayudar a nuestra encargada de HQ, Sandrine, con el cuidado diario de nuestra manada de rescatados.

Si realmente amas a los perros, disfrutas estar al aire libre y no tienes miedo de ensuciarte por una buena causa, este podría ser el trabajo de tus sueños.

Lo que estarás haciendo:

🩵 Dar amor, cuidado y atención diaria a nuestros perritos rescatados, incluyendo a nuestro chico con necesidades especiales, Camilo, que usa silla de ruedas
💊 Darles de comer y administrar medicamentos
🧹 Limpiar, hacer las tareas del día a día y mantener nuestro refugio organizado
🚑 Ayudar con los traslados al veterinario cuando sea necesario y manejar emergencias si se presentan
🐾 Paseos diarios, entrenamiento con correa, actividades de enriquecimiento y tiempo de juego
🌙 Quedarte ocasionalmente a pasar la noche en el refugio durante periodos de mayor necesidad

A quién estamos buscando:

💛 Alguien con confianza y experiencia para manejar a varios perros

A little puzzle, a lot of confidence! 🐾🧩

Our pups received yesterday a great donation of medications and this clever puzzle feeder that makes them work for their treats.

And here’s Raquel giving it a try! 💛

For dogs like Raquel, who are still building confidence, enrichment isn’t just about keeping them busy. It gives them a chance to think, explore, make choices, solve problems and experience small successes. And every little success can help build confidence and reduce stress.

🤙🏽 Throwback Thursday: Same Favorite Fan, Still Waiting for Her Furever Breeze, Check-in on Stockholm! 🇲🇽🌀

TBT to a year and a half ago when this tiny Troncones street pup first discovered the pure joy of resting right in front of her favorite cooling fan at the HQ. 🐾❄️

Fast forward 1.5 years later, and this goofy pup is still fan-girling to keep herself cool. 🧊

She has spent far too many seasons waiting for the ultimate breeze: a ride straight home into the crisp, cool autumn weather with her furever crew. 🇨🇦🇺🇸

She is the ultimate Velcro marshmallow and resident “mooing” legend, rocking total crate-trained, treat-motivated perfection while holding out hope for a cool-weather family to cuddle up with. 🐮🛋️

After 18 long months of watching other pups catch their wave home, Stockholm is so ready to swap HQ fan breezes for chillier evening walks and cozy fireside snuggles with you. 🏡💙

1 year and 10 months. That’s almost her whole life. ❤️

Raquel came to the Hopequarters as a puppy. Most of her siblings have found their families. She’s still waiting for hers.

And maybe that’s what makes her story so hard to tell.

Because she isn’t meant to simply grow up in a shelter.
She needs a place where she can learn, feel safe, gain confidence, discover the world… and finally blossom into the beautiful pup she’s meant to be. 🌺

We know there’s so much more to Raquel… she just needs the right person to see it! 🥹
