Roadshow CDMX | Day 2 🏭🇲🇽

During the second day of our Mexico City Roadshow, Tijuana EDC held strategic meetings with CBRE, JLL, Cushman & Wakefield, and Newmark. These discussions focused on navigating current market conditions, identifying emerging investment opportunities, and strengthening collaboration across the industrial real estate sector.

We met with Lyman Daniels of CBRE Mexico, Colombia, and Costa Rica and Yadira Torres of CBRE to discuss the growing demand for data centers and AI infrastructure, highlighting Tijuana's strategic position within the Cali-Baja mega-region.

Our conversation with Gerardo Ramírez, Angélica Roy, and Miguel Velásquez of JLL emphasized Tijuana's industrial evolution beyond traditional electronics, identifying new opportunities in medical devices and the data center supply chain.

With Daniel Caballero and Leticia Valenzuela of Cushman & Wakefield, we explored comprehensive real estate solutions, focusing on project management support for essential quality and environmental certifications like ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

Finally, we met with Samuel Campos and Giovanni D’Agostino of Newmark Mexico and Latin America to review stable industrial rental rates and develop a focused investment promotion narrative for advanced manufacturing and technology.

During the “USMCA on the Line: How Can Cali-Baja Adapt?” panel at the Cali-Baja Business Summit 2026, Daniel Salazar, Industrial Policy Coordinator at the Baja's Medical Device Cluster, emphasized the importance of leveraging the region’s manufacturing expertise, trade partnerships, and regulatory compliance to remain competitive beyond production costs.

His perspective highlights how regional strengths can help navigate trade uncertainty and attract future investment.

Roadshow CDMX | Day 1 🇲🇽🇧🇪🩺
On the first day of our roadshow in Mexico City, Tijuana EDC held meetings focused on strengthening international partnerships and supporting the companies already established in our region.

We were received by Ambassador Patrick Herman to discuss the economic relationship between Mexico, Belgium, and the European Union and the opportunities emerging from a changing global geopolitical landscape. The conversation covered progress on the trade agreements between Mexico and the European Union, the role of Belgian companies established in Tijuana, and potential collaboration in water and infrastructure, including Tijuana’s new desalination plant; software and digitalization, including open-source platforms, semiconductors, and artificial intelligence.

A key takeaway was the shared interest in diversifying economic and trade relations between Belgium and Mexico.

Stryker
We also met with Stryker top leaders, a global medical technology company with a significant manufacturing presence in Tijuana. Together with Sergio Ramos, Senior Manager of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance (RAQA), we discussed operational challenges and opportunities, particularly in certifications, COFEPRIS regulatory requirements, and import processes, areas where Tijuana EDC can provide strategic support. We also addressed the importance of bringing innovative medical technologies to Mexico and strengthening the conditions for companies to continue operating in the country.

We thank Ambassador Herman and the Stryker team for their time and openness. Tijuana EDC will continue building bridges between our region and international markets while working alongside established companies to strengthen competitiveness across the CaliBaja mega-region.

🥇 #1 Nationally in 2026: 112,454 new formal jobs created so far this year.
📈 Exponential Growth: An 8.5% annual increase in August, reaching a historic high of 1,107,357 insured workers.
🚀 Monthly Leadership: 22,042 new jobs were added between July and August, the highest figure recorded among all state entities in the country.
🥈 #2 Nationally Over 12 Months: Second place in formal jobs generated over the last 12 months, trailing only Mexico City.
As highlighted by the Secretary of Economy and Innovation, Kurt Honold Morales, this positive trend reflects a constantly expanding job market, greater formalization, and better conditions for families in our state.

Companies from the United States and Taiwan expressed strong interest in integrating their operations with our established electronics manufacturing ecosystem. Furthermore, we advanced discussions with a key prospect evaluating the region as a destination for future high-value investment.
