As per directions of Government of Punjab and UET Taxila's Administration, ASME UET Taxila Chapter regrets to inform that Student Professional Development Conference (SPDC) 2016 has been cancelled due to unforeseen security fears. We deeply regret that an event like SPDC that is the greatest opportunity for students especially the engineering students to participate. We understand the disappointment of many participants but security of participants is more important than any award and achievement. We had been trying hard to conduct the SPDC 2016 but the things were beyond our limits. Taking into account the exceptional circumstances, we cannot however take any security risk for our participants and once again we regret to cancel the event.

Terrorism has once again shown it is prepared deliberately to stop at nothing in creating human victims. An end must be put to this. As never before, it is vital to unite forces of the entire nation against terror, we must have to promote peace which is based on hope instead of fighting which spread nothing but fear.
We strongly condemn the attacks in Lahore and Islamabad in which our innocent citizens lost their lives.

Considering the current security condition of country and as per directions of Ministry of Education, ASME UET Taxila Chapter regrets to inform that SPDC 2016 has been delayed.
Ofcource a platform like SPDC is the greatest opportunity for students especially the engineering students to participate in but your security is more important than any award and achievement. We had been trying hard to avoid this but all that can be said for now is that safety and security is the first and foremost concern.
