In 2000, Alan and Pamela Skuse left their home in Australia to volunteer at an orphanage in Tapachula, Mexico for one year. Six months later when the organisation suddenly closed, the couple had to make a life-changing decision: to return to Australia or take on the challenge of caring for the remaining seven children full time. With the help of the community and donors, we built our new home toge

ther and our big green walls have become home for so many. Twenty years later, Misión México has expanded into three homes, two community projects, and has helped transform the lives of hundreds of children and youth! We provide education, health & wellbeing, youth transition, therapy, community support and extra-curricular classes. Today, we have an international family of amazing volunteers, donors, supporters and staff, all of who this would not be possible without. There are so many ways to get involved and to keep Pam and Alan's dream of giving love, life and hope to all alive. Earlier this Mother’s Day, our sister project Proyecto Faro hosted a beautiful community celebration at the Misión Posible Community Centre in Puerto Madero 💛

The event brought together mothers, children, and families participating in Faro’s programs for a morning filled with performances, creativity, learning, and community connection ✨

The youngest children presented a dance performance, students shared an English poetry reading that reflected their learning and growth, and the children dedicated a special song to all of the mothers present.

Families also enjoyed chocolate-covered bananas prepared by the children themselves, creating a joyful space that encouraged participation, confidence, and togetherness.

At Misión México, we believe deeply in the importance of creating spaces where families feel supported, celebrated, and connected — and we are so proud of the meaningful work Proyecto Faro continues to do within the community 💛

This week we are proud to celebrate Dayanna and her continued dedication to her education. 📚✨

Dayanna is about to complete her fourth semester of high school and is getting closer each day to achieving her dream of attending university. Her strong academic performance reflects the discipline, effort, and determination she brings to every challenge.

Over nearly two years with Misión Posible, Dayanna has shown incredible resilience while continuing to build a bright future for herself. With the support of Misión México and the generosity of our donors, she now has the tools and opportunities to continue her studies and strengthen her personal development. 🎓💛

A huge thank you to Felicia for sharing her creativity, time, and heart with the children at Misión México 💛🎨

During her time with us, Felicia painted beautiful murals throughout our children’s spaces, helping transform bedrooms and common areas into places filled with colour, imagination, and joy. These spaces are where children grow, feel safe, dream big, and simply get to be kids.

Volunteers like Felicia leave an impact that lasts far beyond their stay. Through art, kindness, and connection, she helped make our home even more special for the children who live here every day.

As we head into the busy summer season, we are urgently looking for volunteers for June, July, and August 🌞 Whether you have experience in art, sports, education, childcare, maintenance, or simply want to help wherever needed, there is a place for you here.

Un enorme agradecimiento a Felicia por compartir su creatividad, tiempo y corazón con los niños y niñas de Misión México 💛🎨

Durante su voluntariado, Felicia pintó hermosos murales en distintos espacios de nuestra casa hogar, llenando las habitaciones y áreas comunes de color, imaginación y alegría. Estos espacios son lugares donde nuestros niños pueden sentirse seguros, crecer, soñar y disfrutar su infancia.

Voluntarias como Felicia dejan una huella que permanece mucho después de su visita. A través del arte y la generosidad, ayudó a que nuestro hogar se sintiera aún más especial para todos los niños y jóvenes que viven aquí.

✨ Tuvimos el privilegio de participar en el XVII Simposio de Tecnologías y Negocios de la Universidad Autónoma de Chiapas (UNACH), donde compartimos con las y los estudiantes el trabajo que realizamos en Misión México Foundation y promovimos nuestros programas de servicio social. 💙💛

Fue una oportunidad muy especial para conectar con jóvenes interesados en generar un impacto positivo en su comunidad, compartir nuestra misión y abrir espacios para que más estudiantes puedan involucrarse en programas enfocados en contaduría, educación, salud, bienestar y desarrollo comunitario.

✨ We had the privilege of participating in the XVII Symposium of Technologies and Business at the Autonomous University of Chiapas (UNACH), where we shared the work we do at Misión México Foundation and promoted our social service programs with university students. 💙💛

It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with young people interested in creating positive change in their communities, share our mission, and encourage more students to get involved in programs focused on accounting, education, health, wellbeing, and community development.

Iniciamos la quinta generación de Jóvenes con Rumbo en Tapachula, Chiapas 💛✨

Comienza una nueva etapa llena de aprendizajes, retos, crecimiento y nuevas oportunidades para cada una de las jóvenes que decidió creer en sí misma y dar este paso hacia su futuro.

Durante los próximos cuatro meses, estarán preparándose con herramientas y conocimientos que les permitan construir una vida laboral activa, fortaleciendo también su confianza, habilidades y desarrollo personal.

Misión Posible Scholar Highlight🎓

This week we take our hat off to Daniela! 🩺

Dani is currently in her third year of Medicine with a 70% scholarship at a local university and an impressive grade average of 9.0. With only one year left before beginning her residency, we are incredibly proud to watch her continue growing into an amazing future doctor.

Recently, Dani completed a practicum in the operating room where she observed cesarean births firsthand, and she is now leaning toward specializing in Pediatrics. Her calmness under pressure and caring nature are qualities we know will serve her beautifully throughout her medical career.

Studying Medicine is an expensive path, and although Dani has worked tirelessly to maintain her scholarship, these opportunities would not be possible without the support of our Misión Posible donors and our major sponsor, ❤️

💐 Hoy celebramos a las mamás jóvenes que forman parte de nuestro Programa Madres Jóvenes en Proyecto Faro 💛

En este Día de las Madres queremos reconocer la fuerza, resiliencia y amor que vemos en cada una de ellas. Ser mamá a una edad temprana puede traer grandes retos, pero también sueños, metas y nuevas oportunidades ✨

Este programa busca crear espacios seguros donde las jóvenes madres puedan aprender, crecer y fortalecer su independencia emocional y económica. Más allá de talleres y apoyos, también buscamos construir comunidad, confianza y esperanza 🌸

Cada cifra compartida en esta publicación representa una historia real: mamás que regresaron a estudiar, mujeres que iniciaron sus propios emprendimientos y bebés que hoy crecen rodeados de mayor estabilidad y cuidado 💛

Through this program, we aim to create safe spaces where young mothers can learn, grow, and strengthen both their emotional and economic independence. Beyond workshops and support services, this program is also about building community, confidence, and hope 🌸

This week we are proud to celebrate Maria Esther 💛

Mari is currently in her sixth trimester of her Cosmetology degree and continues to inspire us with her compassion, dedication, and generous spirit. She has especially loved the social responsibility aspect of her studies, always finding ways to support others through her work and passions.

From participating in hair donation initiatives for wigs to supporting local animal shelters, Mari consistently uses her time and talents to help her community. She dreams of one day opening her own business while continuing to pursue other academic interests close to her heart.

No matter where life takes her, we know Mari will always lead with kindness and care for the most vulnerable. We are so proud to watch her grow and cannot wait to see what her next project will be. Best of luck, Mari ✨
