Las tormentas no solo nos afectan a nosotros… para muchos perritos y gatitos pueden ser momentos de mucho estrés y miedo. 💔

Su oído es mucho más sensible, por lo que los truenos, la lluvia intensa y los relámpagos pueden resultar abrumadores. Es común que, al asustarse, se escondan, tiemblen, ladren, intenten escapar o incluso tengan accidentes dentro de casa. 😢

✨ ¿Cómo puedes ayudarlos?
🐾 Mantenlos dentro de casa, en un lugar seguro y tranquilo.
🐾 Cierra bien puertas y ventanas para evitar que huyan por miedo.
🐾 Crea un espacio cómodo con su camita, cobijas o algo que tenga tu olor.
🐾 Pon música suave o la televisión para disminuir el ruido de los truenos.
🐾 Acompáñalos y háblales con calma, tu presencia les da mucha seguridad.
🐾 Asegúrate de que lleven placa o identificación actualizada, por cualquier emergencia.

Recuerda: muchos perritos se pierden durante tormentas por el pánico. Prevenir puede salvar vidas. 🙏

The dogs and cats of the families in our group all received a generous portion of pet food today!

A big THANK YOU to the Humane Society of Cozumel Island, and their donors, for helping us feed pets in need here on Cozumel Island.

We are very grateful for this partnership!

Judy came to pick up 50 kg of dog food, which will be shared with dogs in need in Ranchitos, Las Fincas, and rehabilitation centers 🐶🤍

We want to sincerely thank everyone who supports us with food donations. Because of you, we are not only able to care for our own rescued animals, but also extend that help to more families with pets in vulnerable situations 🙌

Your support truly makes a difference. 💛

If you’d like to join us, we have a weekly list of needed supplies for our spay and neuter clinic, as well as pet food (dog and cat kibble is always greatly appreciated).

12 THINGS CHALLENGE-SPRING HAS SPRUNG EDITION

We are preparing for our April 2nd pantry day, and would sure appreciate your help!

Every six weeks, we help stock the cupboards of families in need here in Cozumel. Our pantry package includes dry pet food, eggs, fresh fruits and vegetables, shelf-stable basic foods, and cleaning/hygiene items.

You can help us in our mission by pledging a DOZEN of one (or more) family-sized items from this list:

-Black Beans, dried 1 kilo bags
-Tuna in water, cans/poly pouches (4 sets of 12)
-Rice, white 1-kilo bag (2 sets of 12)
-Canned Chicken (Sam's)
-Oats (regular, plain, 1-kilo bag)
-Lentils, Dried, 2 sets of 12
-Cheerios-style Cereal (large box)
-Canned peas, 400 gram cans
-Cooking oil, 1 liter
-Juice, 100%, apple or orange 1 liter (2 sets of 12)
-Apples (bagged, small-sized)
-Nuts (other than peanuts, poly bag)
-Sugar 1/2 kilo bag
-Crackers, family pack (Ritz or saltines)

A BIG thanks to Pam and John, who continue to support one of our young members with special needs!!!!

Parents of special-needs children often have many additional unexpected expenses for medication, medical supplies/devices, or, special therapies not covered by the government-just to name a few.

Keeping this particular school-aged child clean and comfortable means they wear diapers. Sponsorship of these diapers means the parents can focus more on meeting the other needs of their child.

Would you like to help us help pre-screened families here on Cozumel Island?

We will be collecting food (and sponsorships for food) this coming week for distribution to families on April 2.

🐾💚 Queremos agradecer infinitamente a todas las personas que nos donan alimento. Es algo súper esencial para nuestros peluditos, y gracias a su apoyo también podemos ayudar a otros rescatistas que tienen muchos animales bajo su cuidado.

The biggest THANK YOU to Pam and John, for being so kind and providing diapers on an on-going basis for a school-aged child in our group with special needs.

This thoughtful act provides dignity and comfort so this child can concentrate on learning when at school, and allows him to participate more fully in activities.

Although we focus mainly on pantries, our personal approach leads to better understanding about each family's unique challenges.

Currently we are getting ready for February pantries. Pantries are packages containing non-perishable food, fresh fruit and vegetables, hygiene/cleaning products, and pet food.
