Our next sketch gathering will be Wednesday, August 27, 2025 from 10:00 to 12:00-ish. We will meet and sketch at the Jardin, at the corner of San Francisco and Hidalgo (that's the Starbucks corner), and paint what we find of interest around that area. At noon-ish we will gather, "throw down" our work and take photos of our work and each other.
Last week we sketched at the Iglesia de Las Monjas. See photos below, and thanks to all who took these photos.

Our destination this month is GTO City on Friday, August 29.
Guanajuato city is the home of the University of Guanajuato and the annual Cervantes festival. Its network of narrow streets, alleyways and tunnels is typified by the Callejón del Beso (Alley of the Kiss), so named because the balconies are close enough for a couple to reach across and kiss.
We'll leave SMA at 10am and travel in a comfortable van with a bilingual driver. Sketching in Centro could include churches, steep hills covered with colorful houses, Teatro Juarez, “La Giganta” bronze sculpture. We'll enjoy a group lunch with more sketching, and take the funicular car to the top where a panoramic view of the city is spread below.
Fee of $2800 MX includes transportation, museum fees, art supplies, instruction and individual coaching in “Sketching Fast & Loose.” Learn to capture the essence of the people, places and things you see in your travels.
If you bring your own art supplies and don’t need instruction, fee is only $1800 MX.
Advance deposit of $800 MX requested, balance payable in pesos when we meet.
