Rosey’s Wish SMA is a 501(c)(3) and Mexican A.C. working to tackle the crisis of animal suffering caused by overpopulation in our community.

Our primary focus is free sterilization to underserved communities via our Mobile Sterilization Clinic.

Every sterilization clinic is different and Lomas de San Jose was no exception on Saturday June 14, 2026. We sterilized 51 animals and for the first time, the number of cats (29) exceeded the number of dogs (22). Another surprise, Rosey Bus had mechanical difficulties and had to sit out this clinic. But thanks to following, the show went on:
Matthias Heyer (owner of Modern Mechanics / Euro Latino Racing Services and caretaker of Rosey Bus) loaned us a van, tents, and 2 employees to help offload supplies and tables.
Our Host provided a working space.
And Martha with her tenacity would not hear of cancellation.
Thanks also to our Ace Volunteers – Paloma worked alongside our vet to keep the flow of surgeries smooth and orderly; Preston was Recovery Leader supported by Maria, Clara and Michelle. And Angelica prepared an amazing lunch for the hardworking Volunteers. Rosey’s Wish is forever indebted to these Volunteers who give up their time to roll up their sleeves and help the animals of SMA.

Rosey's Wish 1,115 YTD Sterilizations Surpass Mid Year Goal. Congratulations Martha and her excellent team of Volunteers for their last 3 successful clinics. June 3 in Presa la Cantera and June 6 & 7 in Cuevitas resulted in 192 additional sterilizations. YTD we have sterilized 430 cats (39%) and 685 dogs (61%). Our namesake, Rosey, was actually rescued from Presa la Cantera a little over 3 years ago. Who would have dreamed that this singular event would lead to such a highly effective organization. Martha's leadership and her Volunteer Team provide the hard work that drives results. Thanks to...

Team Rosey did it again with 116 sterilizations in Morales this weekend….54 cats and 62 dogs. Counting our 2025 clinic of 74 sterilizations, our total contribution to this community is 190 sterilizations. 2026 total sterilizations ending May 31st is 923. Wahoo! Congratulations Martha, Clara, Laila, Maika, Renee, Angelica, Glynis, Paloma, Paivi and Sandy. Our bank of 25 experienced Volunteers is the backbone of our operation.

THANK YOU SAN MIGUEL for your generous donations in support of Rosey’s Wish garage sale. We sold 99% of all donations and raised enough pesos to sterilize almost 100 animals. Thanks to Garage Sale Team Arlena, Maria, Glynis and Raul. You rock!

It Takes a Village! We believe that sterilization is the most sustainable way to end the overpopulation crisis. But sterilization is not the only way. Rescue and adoption are the other 2 pieces of the puzzle. The SMA government allows Yo Amo Animalitos volunteers to enter their kill shelter and help the animals. YAA is self-funded by local donations. For those animals slated for euthanasia, YAA shows love with attention, walks and home cooked food. For those animals that are adoptable, they do a great job finding homes. Support them on June 27th! Have you ever driven through La Cieneguita and noticed so many free roaming dogs? Rosey’s Wish conducted our first clinic in this community today and we hope to return as often as needed to remedy this situation. 30 dogs and 8 cats were sterilized today – 38 total! Take a look at these pictures and you’ll see the love in the eyes of these pet guardians. It was a good day for La Cieneguita!
Thanks to Adriana, Cesar and Blanca with the Jurisdiction Sanitaria GTO for providing donated vet time today. Thanks to Matthias and his team for making sure Rosey bus is maintained and taken to our clinic location. And thanks to our AMAZING VOLUNTEERS. Janis and Angelica assisted Martha with Registration. And Preston, Sandy and Kathy managed Recovery. It takes a village!
