In just a few days, the Kids First Ortho team evaluated 204 children, completed 48 surgeries, and performed 159 total procedures with an estimated care value of $359,466 USD.

But the numbers only tell part of the story.

Behind every surgery was a scared child, a hopeful parent, and a team of people refusing to let these families face it alone. Doctors. Nurses. Translators. Volunteers. Local hospital staff. Long days filled with compassion, patience, and nonstop work to give these kids a better future.

This week was proof that humanity still shows up when it matters most.

And every single life changed here will ripple far beyond these hospital walls.

This week has reminded us that kindness doesn’t need recognition, language, or borders.

The local staff at Hospital Joya have cared for every child like family. Quietly. Selflessly. Constantly.

And in a world that feels heavy sometimes, watching people give this much of themselves to help children has been something none of us will forget.

Day 4 in San Miguel de Allende.

Surgeries continued today, and so did the moments that remind everyone why this mission matters.

Tired parents finally exhaling after successful procedures. Kids waking up smiling. Doctors and volunteers pushing through long hours because every surgery means a child gets a better shot at life.

One family at a time. One surgery at a time.

Another full day of surgeries begins now as the Kids First Ortho team keeps pushing forward to help as many children as possible this week. Every room, every doctor, every volunteer moving with one mission in mind.

Day 2 in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.

Today the surgeries officially began.

After seeing more than 200 children during clinic day, the team moved straight into the operating rooms and completed 14 life-changing surgeries today alone. Every procedure represents a kid getting a better chance at movement, confidence, comfort, and a more normal childhood.

The amount of coordination, precision, and heart behind these medical missions is hard to put into words. Long hours, nonstop focus, and a team fully committed to helping as many families as possible.

More surgeries ahead this week.

Day 1 in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico with Kids First Ortho is in the books.

Today was clinic day at Hospital Joya, where more than 200 kids were seen and evaluated by the team. By the end of the day, 45 children were officially scheduled for life-changing surgeries over the coming days.

Families traveled from all over Mexico hoping for answers, support, and a chance at a better future for their kids. Watching these doctors, nurses, volunteers, and support staff work nonstop to make that happen was incredible to witness.

This is why these missions matter.
